Editor’s Note: This is NOT the draught Duvel (aka Duvel Green). Duvel Groen is only bottled, never draught, and generally only available in Belgium, not the US or UK. ABV went from 7.5% to 7%.

Bottle 25cl, a clear yellow beer with huge head. Nose is very hopy. Aroma is on dry malt with intense hops presence, hay and peppery hops, body is low, some agrumes notes, not bad but red version is better.

From Uvinum. In Teku glass. Reading CPPHTP10 Ch12. More hoppily herbal than the normal Duvel but great nontheless.

Bottle 0,25cl. Appearance: Pours a clear pale yellow colour with a short white head. Head doesn’t last to long and leaves marginal lacing. Aroma: apples and pears, yeast, bready malt. Taste: Moderate Sweet, some grains, apples, pears bready malts going over into a mild bitter finish. Thin-moderate body, average carbonation. (backlog rating)

Trevlig

Bottiglia, 25 cl.

25cl bottle from Dranken Verheyen in Poppel. The beer is yellow golden colored and pours a stable white head, with livingly CO2. The aroma is full and comparable to the normal Duvel, with tones of grass and hops, but also a fruitiness from the citrus. Taste is light sweet with tones of honey and appricots. A light pepper in the end is noticable. The finish is reasonable and long with a light spicy bitterness.

KyotoLefty (8431) - Kyoto, JAPAN - SEP 5, 2015
25 cl bottle by mail order in Japan. Drink by 2015.11.30. Grainy nose, cereals, bread, crackers, light lemony hops. Touch of honey. Clear golden color, medium fine head. A bit sweet, malty, grainy, light honey and biscuits. Herbal, lemony hops, though as this is a bit old, they are diminished. Still, nicely peppery, prickly finish with decent bitterness. Prickly, persistent carbonation. Not the real thing, and would probably be better a bit fresher, but this is still a good beer.
