The original Tripel hop, back from when most people never had an ipa. Things have changed, a lot. I have never had the original release, but I sure dig this one. The body does loose it’s Duvel dry character and adds sweetness, but it makes for a good beer nonetheless. Still a distinctive big bubble, just not as dry. (33cl bottle from Saveur Bière)

Blind-tasted as part of saveur bieres tasting pack. Sparkling, clear golden, just tiny bit hazy, big frothy/rocky white head, sticky lacing patches. Aroma has yeast, bit soapy tones, sweet, lime, mildly lemon and grapefruit, blackcurrant, winey notes, mild eucaluptus. Medium bitter, mild sourness, finish is long fruity and medium bitter, medium body, soft carbonation. Tasty, nuanced, lovely(ment to write lively, but I’ll keep this), great!

Zlotta (2158) - Hagen, GERMANY - MAY 8, 2016
0.33 l bottle from ’Mitra’ (Beukenweg, Amsterdam) as part of the tasting box, best before August 2017. Clear, pale straw yellow with a greenish touch and a massive, fluffy, stable, white head. Fruity-grassy, floral and slightly herbal aroma of fresh grass, lots of grapefruit, ginger and lime. Slightly bitter, floral, fruity-grassy and a little herbal taste of lime, ginger, lots of grapefruit and fresh grass, followed by a medium long, very dry, grassy-bitter, slightly alcoholic and quite herbal finish. Medium body, effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Very good again, but I liked the Citra version a bit more.

UPDATED: JUN 20, 2016 Bottle of 33cl, in a Duvel glass; from the fridge. By Duvel Hop tasting box. Great and strong taste of amarillo. The beer itself has a clear, pale orange colour. Notes of heavy hop for aroma. Great one, but maybe a little too strong in taste.
