Pours pale golden with massive white fluffy head. Aroma of grapefruit and the character of white wine and champagne. Taste is hoppy and very dry and it really feels like chapagne when the lively carbonation hits your mouth. It has a perfect bitter finish.

Very pale yellow appearance. The well rounded Amarillo hop is there but seems rather muted. It’s also quite thin and gassy.

Aroma:
Slight/medium aroma of malts, Belgian yeast, orange, hops and citrus.

Appearance:
Hazy yellow/golden beer with a medium/large white head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium sweet with malts, Belgian yeast and orange; ends slightly bitter with hops and citrus.

Overall:
A really great addition to the standard Duvel with a flavour that is a hoppy extension. Just as good as the Sorachi Ace and the Mosaic versions, but I guess this is the more commercial viable one.

Now rebrewed as Tripel Hop no. 1, gold with a lasting fine head, aromas of peach, sage and pepper. Dry and herby-spicy.

sample from bottle at ZBF, new batch from 2016. poured a clear golden colour with a white head. nose of citrus, crisp malts, floral hops, grass, lemon peel, slight tropical fruit notes, crisp mouthfeel, clear notice of your regular duvel with a very nice and fruity twist. carbonated, refreshing mouthfeel. 2nd best version close after the citra,

Clear pale golden color with small white head. Aroma is sweet fruits. Taste is sweet peach, a bit spicy, a bit phenolic, wheaty. Good, but Citra and Mosaic were better.

Bottle at home. Aroma is grassy hops, yeast, touch of floral, hint of lemon, pale malt. Flavour is moderate bitter with a rather dry finish. Body is medium. Very grassy, dry and crisp. The Styrian Goldings is quite dominant relative to the Amarillo. Very enjoyable dryhopped Belgian Ale.

Basically like a hoppy Belgian golden strong... Love the extra hops and still has a lot of Belgian character due to using the stryrian geldings hops which are light and floral but present... The Amarillo is noticeable but also muted and balanced... Great holiday warmer!

yes, please! stood out to me far more than the pretty good base beer. the hops really pop and stand in contrast to the lightly spicy fruity yeast. not cheap, but nice.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2014 750ml bottle served in its own tulip glass. 2010 Edition: Styrian Goldings, Saaz and Amarillo. A: Pours a pale yellow cloudy color forming a huge white, fluffy and soapy head that only Duvel can produce. Excellent retention. It never disappears completely forming and leaving tons of lacings in the glass S: Smells like the regular Duvel. Very malty and yeasty. As expected, hops are more intense and stingy in this version. Citrus hops, flowery hops, earthy hops. Alcohol can be felt in the very end T: Excellent in the mouth. Really amazing beer. I couldn’t imagine that I could find an improved version of Duvel. Hop heads like me will love it! Well, first of all a strong malts backbone followed by the Belgian yeasts and the intense combination hops. In overall a dry and bitter beer. Pure pleasure. Hops are earthy, citrus and refreshing M: A medium to full bodied beer. Quite carbonated. Quite bitter with a bready and yeasty aftertaste O: Very drinkable. Amazing beer in all aspects. Even better than the regular Duvel (yes, it’s possible ;)) [ BA Review @ 4/8/2012 ]
