COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first two batches of Duvel Tripel Hop were brewed with Saaz-Saaz, Styrian Golding and Amarillo. From now on Duvel Tripel Hop will have a different hop every year that will be added in the brewing process as well as being used for dry hopping. For 2012 this hop is Citra.

Editorís note: clearly distinguishable, in a circle on the label it reads "Dry Hopped with Citra 2012 Selection"

750ml bottle. Clear to filmy golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Aroma has lots of fresh hop, citrusy, minimally grassy. Taste is unspecific fruity, slightly grassy hoppy, subtle sweetness.

Bottled. Slight hazy pale yellow color, huge rocky white head. Aroma of typical duvel yeast esters together with some tropical fruit from the citra. Citric, grassy, a bit herbal. A complete mismatch. This combination makes it smell like garlic and union. Taste is very dry, like a regular duvel, but with increased bitterness, almost harsh. Sure, itís drinkable and I will finish the glass, but Iím sorry, itís a horrible creation.

750 ml, caged and corked bottle. 2012 Vintage. Poured a hazy straw color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas of yeast, fruitiness, citrus, and floral. Tastes of fruitiness, yeast, citrus / dried lemon peels, and some spiciness in the finish.

Large foamy head, pale clear colour. Bittersweet citric taste, with a herbal finish and the high abv comes as no surprise here. The best Duvel Iíve ever tasted so far.

tommertens01 (10) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - APR 14, 2013
Aroma: very fruity, a lot of citrus, really refreshing, a little bit of alcohol Appearance: pale yellow (more than a regular Duvel), pretty clear (becomes hazy with yeastdeposit), white, regular head Taste: again, a lot of citrus, but not too much, a little bit sweet and a bitter aftertaste, nicely balanced Drinks almost like a lager, but feels like a Duvel! Very nice beer, A+!

Giallo paglierino, velata. Schiuma abbondante. Aroma fruttato, floreale. Nel palato molto equilibrata con un ottima aciditŗ e sentori di agrumi. Buona luppolatura.

Pours clear, straw yellow, with the fabulous bright white Duvel head. Nose is fresh, citra apparent. Taste is orangey, malty, with a mild hoppy finish. Well balanced and dangerous; the 9,5% alc. go down far too easily... The Belgians are finally waking up and apply their great skill to old Šnd new style.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BBE 01/2015, at Punavuoren Ahven, 20130413) The beer poured pale golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had citricness, fruitiness and Belgian style yeast. Palate was medium bodied with quite high carbonation. Flavours were citricness, fruitiness, Belgian style yeast, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. Quite different from an ordinary Duvel but not in a bad way.

Pours Duvelís usual hazy gold with fluffy head. The typical funk lifts a sharp citrus tinge to the nose. Itís roundness meets nicely in the mouth with the bitter edges, fading with a lemon and lime aftertaste. Iím not convinced by this; I think citra may be a bit sharp, a bit too lemon-y for the softness of this ale. The malt and body needs to be ramped up a bit more to carry and convey the strong hop flavour. But then again, I guess if they did that it just wouldíve been another IIPA rather than a Duvel Triple Hop. Glad I tried it, though.
