3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Light golden, hazy, average to large and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty - wheaty and sweetish aroma, light caramel, fruitiness and light sourness, some citrus and light spiciness (coriander - light pepper). Body is medium, malty – some wheat and sweetish, light caramel, fruitiness and light sourness, light citrus and light spiciness. Finish is average, malty – some wheat and lightly sweetish, light caramel, fruitiness and light sourness, some citrus and light spiciness with light alcohol. Fruity and sweetish Belgian strong ale - fruitiness and light sourness (and light caramel) just do not work with this Citra hoppyness. Interesting, but not so enjoyable.

Better version of the normal Duvel. Very hoppy nose. Bitter and citrus. A lot of carbonation.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at Birmingham Beer Festival 2012. Wow what a suprise, an already delicious Belgian beer made all the more delicious (arguably) by the addition of a new World hop. Not surprising at all really. This cost a bundle, but was probably worth it. The end in sight.

Drunk at Birmingham Beer Festival. DId I really have this many. Bonkers. No wonder I ended up drunken shitting in a women’s toilet and then sharing the experience with the world. World? Don’t flatter yourself. Right. I’m done. Duvel rule but I’ll have to re-review this as, well....

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sample at a tasting at Systembolaget in October 2012.
Clear golden with a white head. The aroma was hoppy with citrus and some yeast. Rather fresh taste of hops and citrus. Also some yeast and notes of "medicine". Dry and bitter finish, descent.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pale gold thin white from Bottle Shop Canterbury. Perfumed hoppy aroma. Very pleasant perfumed hop aroma. A little strong and syrupy in the mouth then the hops take over. Quite dry on finish. Its really hoppy and quite lovely for a Duvel.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
330ml Bottle - Golden with moderate carbonation and a foamy white head. Grass, tea, lemon, yeast, banana and a hint of grapefruit in the aroma. Hoppy, fresh and slightly sweet taste with notes of banana, grapefruit, lemon, tea and yeast. Very easy to drink. It certainly doesn’t taste like its 9.5%. Very enjoyable.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle 33cl, a clear yellow beer with huge head, nose is on fresh hop, luppuline note, lemon and typical duvel yeast. Aroma is dry, very bitter, citra touch quite alcoholic, no much interesting than the usual one.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
(bottle, 33cl, 2012 edition) Hazy, pale golden colour with a huge and persistent foamy white head. Heavily citrus-fruity aroma with loads of grapefruit, accompanied by spicy yeasty notes. Moderately bitter flavour, still with a present malty sweetness in the background, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Pale malt-character with strong if not obtrusive citrus-fruity hoppy notes in combination with spicy Belgian yeast; bitter and slightly sweet fruity hoppy and slightly piney finish with a dangerously well-masked alcoholic strength. Quaffable, although it could be a bit more complex. 20.X.12
