4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
0,33l bottle from Csakajósör, Budapest. A bit cloudy, pale yellow color with medium frothy head. Interesting odor, it’s like an IPA’s. Intensive pine and citrus. The aroma is also strong and intensive. Harsh piney flavour, real lemon aroma which "attacks" at the beginning. Very delicious, hopfans gonna love it. But as this hoppy beginning decays, a big alcohol flavour appears. It’s a nice one. Medium bitter taste. Medium to full body, fizzy carbonation, creamy texture. Dry, hoppy finish. This is a very intereting one. It’s very different from the classic Duvel, and for me it’s better. It’s called Belgian Strong Ale, but I’d rather say, that it’s a Belgian Imperial IPA. The citrus aroma is very intersting, it tastes like it is served with real lemon juice. Gooood one!

Bottle: Hazy, pale golden, visible carbonation, stable medium-sized creamy head, moderate to solid fruity, mainly citrussy nose; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavouf, soft; slightly lingering citrussy-bitter finish, accompanied by a little tartness. Good, good, but a bit too citrussy...

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
(bottle) pours a slightly hazy yellow colour with a huge frothy white head. aroma of herbal hops, pepper, oranges and light earth, quite spicy, with heavy notes of blackcurrant. flavour is less fruity, pale malts and straw are dominant, with lots of herbal hops, earth and a dry, almost medicinal finish. medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Light golden, hazy, average to large and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty - wheaty and sweetish aroma, light caramel, fruitiness and light sourness, some citrus and light spiciness (coriander - light pepper). Body is medium, malty – some wheat and sweetish, light caramel, fruitiness and light sourness, light citrus and light spiciness. Finish is average, malty – some wheat and lightly sweetish, light caramel, fruitiness and light sourness, some citrus and light spiciness with light alcohol. Fruity and sweetish Belgian strong ale - fruitiness and light sourness (and light caramel) just do not work with this Citra hoppyness. Interesting, but not so enjoyable.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at Birmingham Beer Festival 2012. Wow what a suprise, an already delicious Belgian beer made all the more delicious (arguably) by the addition of a new World hop. Not surprising at all really. This cost a bundle, but was probably worth it. The end in sight.

Drunk at Birmingham Beer Festival. DId I really have this many. Bonkers. No wonder I ended up drunken shitting in a women’s toilet and then sharing the experience with the world. World? Don’t flatter yourself. Right. I’m done. Duvel rule but I’ll have to re-review this as, well....

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sample at a tasting at Systembolaget in October 2012.
Clear golden with a white head. The aroma was hoppy with citrus and some yeast. Rather fresh taste of hops and citrus. Also some yeast and notes of "medicine". Dry and bitter finish, descent.
