COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first two batches of Duvel Tripel Hop were brewed with Saaz-Saaz, Styrian Golding and Amarillo. From now on Duvel Tripel Hop will have a different hop every year that will be added in the brewing process as well as being used for dry hopping. For 2012 this hop is Citra.

Editor’s note: clearly distinguishable, in a circle on the label it reads "Dry Hopped with Citra 2012 Selection"

Pours Duvel’s usual hazy gold with fluffy head. The typical funk lifts a sharp citrus tinge to the nose. It’s roundness meets nicely in the mouth with the bitter edges, fading with a lemon and lime aftertaste. I’m not convinced by this; I think citra may be a bit sharp, a bit too lemon-y for the softness of this ale. The malt and body needs to be ramped up a bit more to carry and convey the strong hop flavour. But then again, I guess if they did that it just would’ve been another IIPA rather than a Duvel Triple Hop. Glad I tried it, though.

0,7L Bottle Thanx to Mr.Rask: Clear yellow colour, with a almost Champagine white big head! Aroma has a lots of citrus, flowery and werry pine dominates! Flavor had a a little bomb of fruits and citrus, mixed with pine and yeastynes! Werry nice complexity here! Big body long fruity finish! Well done!!

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. A hazy yellow beer with strong lemon and spicy citrus fruity flavours, more powerful spicy fruit on the finish.

Truly amazing beer. The hop taste is great, and it's a shame it's a limited supply ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Vergeten te raten, even uit mijn hoofd tot ik ’m weer drink: licht goudkleurig, mooie kraag. Citrushoppig aroma en een frisse, volle smaak met wat grapefruit en ander citrusfruit. Lekker bier.

Bottled 33cl. Courtesy of bartlebier. Rating number 2600. Hazy pale golden with a tall, nicely remaining creamy mountainous white head. Yeast, lemon peel, pear, earthy hops and biscuity pale malts throughout. Lively carbonation which results in a creamy palate. Elderflower sneaking in. Great hop profile indeed. Flawless malt back. Dry finish which makes you eager to take another sip. This beer has a huge amount of character. Thanks a lot bartlebier!

I’m worried I’ve only got 4 bottles of this great brew left, It’s been my favourite beer over the last year. The addition of the Citra initially caused concern, it’s a fairly common hop and one I’d sampled in several US beers but boy does it work with Duvel, the hoppy smell bubbles forth and the taste of the dry hopping brings this beer to the next level. My challenge is to source more or persuade Duvel to rebrew this baby.

Cor bem dourada. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
