The first two batches of Duvel Tripel Hop were brewed with Saaz-Saaz, Styrian Golding and Amarillo. From now on Duvel Tripel Hop will have a different hop every year that will be added in the brewing process as well as being used for dry hopping. For 2012 this hop is Citra.

Editor’s note: clearly distinguishable, in a circle on the label it reads "Dry Hopped with Citra 2012 Selection"

Yellow appearance with decent head. Strong hoppy citrus, lemons aroma, grassy notes. Well rounded in the mouth, overall a really Belgian Pale Ale.

Pours the golden yellow color of champagne with a head to match. This beer is aggressively carbonated. The aroma is kind of weird. Hops and honey, and belgian yeast. The taste reminds me more of an IPA than it does of Duvel. The Belgian beer is definitely in the background and the hop flavor is up front. I don’t get much of the citra. Instead I’m tasting more of the earthy tasting hops. It’s like an interesting alternative to champagne.

330ml bottle. Clear, golden, good carbonation, good white head. Fruity nose, american hops, very outspoken. makes me think on a good american IPA. bit of yeast in the back. Taste is very fruity, exotic fruit. peaches, grapefruit, citrus. Finish is less bitter and less dry than a normal Duvel, has even something slightly sweet over it, may be due to the aging? Overall: great Duvel, aging might have done some of the work, but this brew is much more smooth and a bit more complex than the original Duvel. Very close to an IPA. Very nice, like this !

750 mL bottle courtesy of Moose, served in a stem glass. Pours hazy golden with a moderate white head that mostly remains and leaves a small amount of lace. On the nose there are notes of citrus, Duvel yeast and fruit. The flavour is balanced between sweet, pale malts with honey on the one hand, and delicate citric, noble hops on the other. The finish is long and citrusy, with a slight spicy tripel note. On the palate it is medium in body with a slightly dry texture and average carbonation. Overall, a nice Belgian-style IPA with a nice hoppy nose paired with Belgian tripel notes. 2013-07-13

Bought a bottle at the supermarket. Is a yellow/blonde beer with nice large white head, carbonation is wonderfull. In the aroma tones of citrus and flowers and hops. The taste is light sweet with fruity tones of oranges and apples. The finish is robust and substantial yet understated. The bitterness is perfect in harmony with the freshness of lemon. An excellent Strong Ale, nearly as good as the standard Duvel

I thought that this would have more malt warmth. The Citra aroma is there, and this possibly makes the overall top note a sour one, and with no balance of warmth this ends very dry. Has a really full fluffy mouthfeel, with is one of the highlights. Both glad that I have this, and sad that it’s just not better.

Hint av jäst, destomer humle. Lite kryddig i smaken. Väldigt ljus, dock inte sp jätte vattnig. OK
