4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
0,33l bottle from Csakajósör, Budapest. A bit cloudy, pale yellow color with medium frothy head. Interesting odor, it’s like an IPA’s. Intensive pine and citrus. The aroma is also strong and intensive. Harsh piney flavour, real lemon aroma which "attacks" at the beginning. Very delicious, hopfans gonna love it. But as this hoppy beginning decays, a big alcohol flavour appears. It’s a nice one. Medium bitter taste. Medium to full body, fizzy carbonation, creamy texture. Dry, hoppy finish. This is a very intereting one. It’s very different from the classic Duvel, and for me it’s better. It’s called Belgian Strong Ale, but I’d rather say, that it’s a Belgian Imperial IPA. The citrus aroma is very intersting, it tastes like it is served with real lemon juice. Gooood one!

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
The body has a clear golden color on the first two glasses and a pale hazy golden color on the following glasses as the yeast unsettles from the bottom of the bottle. It also has a lot of wonderful champagne like carbonation streaming up to the tall frothy head. This head is white in color and thick. This makes for an excellent long lasting head that clings to the glass and leaves thick sticky lacing behind as I drink. In the nose I get the classic Duvel character with notes of fruity (pear/apple) and funky yeast blended with a bigger more complex hop character. There are nice delicate pilsner like floral hops mixed with spicy and herbaceous hop notes. A mild pine like note also comes and goes in the nose. Behind all of this is a noticeable but expected alcoholic presence. Its flavor matches the aroma perfectly and finishes with a solid dry bitterness slowly fading off the tongue. The firm medium body is lifted by the fine and quite active carbonation which helps to cleanse the palate and keep things light.

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
75cl fles via Être
Alcoholpercentage van 9,5%
Uitgeschonken in originele glas
In ieder geval heel lekker.

The Sorachi version is way better, however, again a good body, malty sweetness balanced with a citric bitterness

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
330 ml bottle. Pours a hazy yellow colour with a small foamy head. Aroma of soap, some cardboard, sourness, strong herbal notes and some grass. Flavour of apricot, chewy citrus, some sourness, grass, herbs and some maltiness. Medium bodied and high carbonation. Some cardboardy notes and also some unpleasant and unintentional sourness due to aging, I guess. Decent.

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Nesodden. Medium white frothy head. Cloudy straw yellow body. Aroma is light grassy hops, a little fruity. Some spiciness. Mostly bitter at first on the tongue, finishes with a long sweet aftertaste. The alcohol is really well camouflaged.

Bottle, 75cL. Home. A golden dark orange beer with brown hues. Large thin white omelette-like head.Good persistence. Gorgeous lacing. Fruity aroma (oh yeah ! exotic fruits, grapefruit), resin, herbs. Heavy bitter with sweet silky waves. Medium body, silky texture, average carbonation, long dry bitter finish with a light warming note. Overall, fabulous ! Fruity, silky, dry bitterness. I hope I will have the chance to share this one with very good friends.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pour a hazy straw yellow beer with a quite big head. Aromas of pure Citra: passion fruit, strawberry, bubblegum and pine. Taste is bittersweet hop juice with passion fruit notes and yeasty background. Palate is a bit oily, silky I would say. Alcohol incredibly well inserted there. Super nice belgian DIPA.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
