COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first two batches of Duvel Tripel Hop were brewed with Saaz-Saaz, Styrian Golding and Amarillo. From now on Duvel Tripel Hop will have a different hop every year that will be added in the brewing process as well as being used for dry hopping. For 2012 this hop is Citra.

Editor’s note: clearly distinguishable, in a circle on the label it reads "Dry Hopped with Citra 2012 Selection"

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of anders37. Pours yellow with a slight haze and a white head. Spicy nose, some fresh citrusy hops. Medium body, carbonation is a little excessive, a dry fruitiness with a fresh touch of the Citra. The combination of a Belgian base beer and American hops actually work here - probably because the Duvel is not overly yeasty. 250113

Bottled at PBF. Hazy pale yellow, small head. Distinct citric yoghurt aroma. Mid sweet with above medium body and firm, soft mouthfeel. Lemon yoghurt lays as a blanket that hides the finer details in the beer. Mid bitte finish with plenty of heat.

Bottle at Bier Circus, Bruxelles; bb 12.2014, L1561 1449
Blond color, with the usual giant head, frothy. The aroma is fresh and fantastic; it’s very interesting to see the Citra in a Belgian beer, the result is not simply spicy, lemony and citrusy, but also has freshly cut grass and flowery fields in Spring, with accents of elderflower.
Good, dry malt flavor, with a mild Belgian spicy touch typical of Duvel, but also a mild citrusy acidity from the hop, and these two last elements are not too cohesive.
As usual from Moortgat, a very good beer; but somehow not fully convincing.
