COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first two batches of Duvel Tripel Hop were brewed with Saaz-Saaz, Styrian Golding and Amarillo. From now on Duvel Tripel Hop will have a different hop every year that will be added in the brewing process as well as being used for dry hopping. For 2012 this hop is Citra.

Editor’s note: clearly distinguishable, in a circle on the label it reads "Dry Hopped with Citra 2012 Selection"

THOUGHTS: Still hard to believe a beer this light in color is so full of flavor and has such a high ABV which is barely noticeable in the flavor. Incredible beer. I really hops this one come back. Way better than the classic original. Further proof of the capabilities of the citra hops. Hid alcohol unbelievably well. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a sparkling, golden yellow with a huge, white head that mostly but slowly diminished. The aroma had moderate grain, cracker and pale malt; heavy tropical fruit hops; moderate resinous hops; and light citrus, lemon and pineapple hops; and moderate funky yeast. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and bitter, and moderately acidic; while the finish was moderately sweet and acidic, and heavily bitter with an average to long duration. There was cracker, pale malt, tropical fruit hops, slightly resinous hops, light funky yeast, light citrus hops, lemon and pineapple. The light to medium body was very dry with fizzy carbonation and a slightly metallic and astringent finish.

Less clear than the original Duvel, creamy head, dry grape flavour. What a great beer!

33cl bottle, taken from notes. APPEARANCE: clear blond beer, nice stable white head. NOSE: some alcohol, citra clearly noticeable, bitter, some passion fruit even? TASTE: citra clear again, very fruity, balanced, hoppy. This hop goes really well with the Duvel!

A great variant of the original. I was lucky enough to land 3 or 4 bottles of this. Not as clear as the original Duvel and has much more flavor. In typical Duvel fashion the high ABV is masked by hops, spice and citrus. Great beer.

2012 Vintage - 750 ml bottle - Very effervescent with long lasting head. Aroma of lemon, hay & hops. A hop forward Belgian golden with unusual combination of hop flavors. Not a fan of Citra, but the spicy notes of Styrian and Saaz provide a nice finish. Much preferred the previous vintages with more traditional continental hop profile.

Clear golden colour, medium white foamy head, soft sweet citrus grapefruit pineaple apple hoppy smell, high carbonation(to much mabey) medium bitter apple mango grapefruit taste, a bit to much CO2 to really enjoy the full taste in my opinion a nice spicy finish
