3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a hazy yellow, with tempestuous but lasting foam. Fresh on the nose, with notes of citrus and grape. Bitter and slightly sweet taste, notes of unripened berry. Sharp, short finish. Prickly, blonde style but drier.

Belle robe jaune, superbe collet persistant. Les aromes de citron et de fruits exotiaues tres fraissont un veritable regal. En bouche, c’est l’accord parfait. Attaque franche sur le citron et l’amertume. Le retour est fruite. Bien ronde et parfaitement equilibree.
Une merveille !

Bottle at Wildeman. Rather rocky head, the usual pale golden colour. Peppery orange zest nose, complex flavours with some candy sweetness as well as peppery dryness. Nice renewal of a classic.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a somewhat hazy golden, with a nice and finger thick creamy head. Aroma is hoppy and nice with a good sweetness, and there’s heather honey, flowery meadows and lychee with notes of deep forest, cats piss as well as pine and lemon bitterness. Full body, with average carbonation. Flavour is quite sweet with notes of honey, but the funky Belgian yeast and bitter lemony hops rule the show. In a good way. A splendid Duvel, and this easy drinking bugger could be drunk again and again.

Looks like Duvel. Tastes like Duvel. A little more lemon characteristic on the nose. Hint of spicy ness on the palate courtesy of the sorachi. Yeast is prominant. Rather have a straight up Duvel if I’m honest.
