3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Stubby bottle, 330 ml, at home. Poured into my tulip glass. ABV 9,5%.
Great appearance as with all Duvels, with clear golden yellow body and a snow white, thick and sopay head of a bit more than three fingers. Foam has average retention. Nice lacing left on the glass once again.
The new hops offer an tropical fruit aroma, a bit of mango too. Very refreshing smell, just like a good IPA.
Very nice bittery taste as well, with the flavour following the aroma. Lots of tropical fruits, very refreshing, very hoppy. The high alcohol masterfully hidden for one more time, deceiving you into taking big sips of this excellent beer.
Medium thin body, good amount of carbonation. Dry on the palate, but nothing extreme.
Overall, this one is very close to an IPA, both aroma/taste wise and hops level, although not overly bitter. Great beer, and as with the 2012 version, they should have made it year round or at least seasonal instead of an one-off.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
33cl Bottle at Lost Property. Clear golden colour, big white head. Aroma is bad, cat piss, grain, cheap toilet refreshener, grass, light tart. Flavour is light malty, green apple skin, cat piss, light-sweet bubblegum (there it is!), light floral and fruity, light tart, citrus, bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Not nearly as good as the other Duvels so far.

3.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Medium sized airy and sticky white foamy head on top of a cloudy bright yellow colored beer.
Aromas of sweat and piss! Damn what a fucked up aroma!
Luckily after a while some floral (sharper green plant extracts) tones come through. Still not good though.
The flavours are better, still not top notch but there is hops, citrus, lemon, bit sharper, some grapes and green sharper floral tones. Very hoppy floral. I like the Sorachi Ace, but for some reason I can’t recognize that one...
Somewhat high pitched and sharper citrus tasting Duvel.
Aftertaste of sharper hoppy fruit tones and some floral sprinkles.
Low to medium carbo, soft creamy mouthfeel, good medium body and a creamy texture.
Good thing is that you don’t taste any traces of alcohol.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle @ Leijuva Lahna, Helsinki
Pours clear golden with a smooth white head. Aroma of soapy hops, fruits, spices and malts with hints of bubblegum. Taste is stingy, fruity and slightly spicy with notes of bubblegum and pepper. Finish is smooth, hoppy and fruity with a touch of spices. Alcohol is well hidden. Sorachi Ace is still not my favorite hop, but at least it’s quite subtle here.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
33cl bottle, Geers. Pours hazy yellow / golden, just like Duvel. Hoppy nose, mild C-hop aroma’s, zesty and herb / earth like. Less hopsmacking than the citra edition, but I like this hop. Pretty carbonated, dry, high attenuation, balanced, dangerously drinkable.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours light gold color with two finger white head. Aroma is yeasty and hoppy and has hints of citrus. Taste is dry, hoppy, yeasty and a little bit sour aftertaste. Reminds me a bit of the Houblon Chouffe except that beer is a lot better.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
33cl bottle. Light yellow with medium, snowy white head. Nose : citrus, lemon peel, pepper, skunk, soap, grapefruit, tart. Sip : strong carbonation, tingling even after swallowed. Low to medium thick body. Sweet and citrusy dry bite. Hides well the alcohol but it is also warming. Soap aromas of fruits and grass in the middle. It finishes with fine bitterness, well balanced in but not pronounced enough to call this beer bitter. The beer is too soapy and aromatic for my taste. Misses good body character but hey , it supposed to be a Duvel and Duvel has a light body to be easy to drink so you can get tricked into being very drunk.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330 ml bottle - pours clear intense hay yellow with a two finger steady head. Less creamy than the regular Duvel. Nose is very citrussy which strikes me a bit given the Sorachi Ace. Taste is nice malt with citrus hints - there is not much difference with the Citra imo.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
nice light beer (ebc 5-6) with proper, stable light head.
aroma of course dominated with hops, with spice of grapefruit, and herbs.
in taste I don’t feel really the influence of Sorachi Ace... a bit spicy, good malt background and proper hops character.
Compare to the Triple Hop 2012 this one is worse
