3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
.33 Litre bottle into a Duvel glass in ’Halte 5’ a specialist beer bar next to Brugge Railway Station on 22 sep 2013.
Poured it myself, full white head on the golden body, just like it should be.
Grassy, citrus and hoppy. That just about wraps it up nicely. Add some Belgian yeast esters and a spoon full of alcohol and you’ve nailed the brew completely.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Elderflower cordial on the nose, same initial taste along with banana & hints of mead. One shade lighter than Duvel Rood and just as nice on the stomach, effervescent & clean. Long lasting hop finish, just a little too strong in alcohol as I want to drink more but know the consequences. I wasn’t too keen after my first bottle but this has grown on me. Delicious, delectable, Duvel.

oh i’m a real big fan of this beer! appearance wize looks like duvel. Has a more foamy texture. The hops in this year’s version are just sooo good. Only recently regained my appreciation for normal duvel. But this one truly blew me off my feet! top beer. has a permanent place on my shelf. (re-rate: oh armpit aroma! after I read this I thought: YES. When I first came to the same conclusion I just thought it was me smelling myself after the run I just did. hehe. might sound disgusting, but it’s real good. armpit/canabis aroma!)

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Copyrighter yellow pale, tight all bubbled head. Cardboard conga banana nose, fluffed hops and a little green. Taught oily mouthfeel with a papery dryness and long duvelish finish. Multifaceted hop without actually hitting any refreshment bullseyes for me. Smooth slick hopped linger, too little too late.
