Hops: Saaz, Styrian Golding and Sorachi Ace. "Dry Hopped with Sorachi Ace. 2013 Selection"

Overall is perfekt. One of the best limited edition beer from Belgium and of course from the Duval Brewery.

Lekkerder dan zijn voorganger uit 2012, maar nog steeds erg zwaar. Voor de afwisseling perfect.

Typical large, rocky head, Aroma of gooseberries and grapefruit. Big fruity, honey-like flavors with ample dry malt notes and hop bitterness. This special ediiton is truly special.

THIS... is what a hoppy beer is supposed to be. I have never tasted Japanese hops before but it’s a delight. The hop addition to the beer is so well balanced with the water that the beer is very refreshing. Such a delight. Nuts, herbs, grassy citrus bite

Slightly more bitter than traditional Duvel, but equally fresh and deceivingly light. Medium body, the trademark Duvel foam top and lively carbonation. Lovely hop sense and taste, reminds of flowers and herbs. The 2012 version was marginally better, but this one is excellent as well.

Bottle from Save On. Silly me, I didn’t even know that Duvel was using different hops each year. This one is actually better than the original. I love Sorachi Ace hops. Bright clear gold with lasting fluffy white head and lace. Mildly spicy lemon pastry fresh hoppy aroma. Delicate apricot fruit sweetness with vivacious citrusy lemon dry finish accentuated by effervescent carbo. Abso-fucking-lutely magnificent.

I have been looking forward to this one. Acquired from Kraddel – thx! Consumed 4 days before the official release, I hope this was fresh enough for the hop heads and judges out there. 33 cl. bottle. Bright golden, big white fluffy head. Full hops in the nose, soft citrus, sorachi is a bit more in the back taking a grass, lemongrass approach here and not earthly / blue cheese as it tends to do in darker beers, sharp esters, pepper, soft, round, fruity. Full sweet citrus, grapefruit, lemongrass, fruity, lingering bitter aftertaste, sharp yeast, white grapes, sweet soft, grass. Light, round soft, creamy. The Citra was better but this is still lovely – think I will be getting a couple of 4 packs of this one. Score as with Citra is influenced by price, distribution etc.
