COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hops: Saaz, Styrian Golding and Sorachi Ace. "Dry Hopped with Sorachi Ace. 2013 Selection"

33cl bottle, Geers. Pours hazy yellow / golden, just like Duvel. Hoppy nose, mild C-hop aroma’s, zesty and herb / earth like. Less hopsmacking than the citra edition, but I like this hop. Pretty carbonated, dry, high attenuation, balanced, dangerously drinkable.

330ml bottle served in a Duvel tulip glass. A: Pours a pale and clear yellow color forming the traditional huge white fluffy, creamy and soapy Duvel trademark head. Good retention and many lacings formed and left in the glass S: The Duvel sweet grains backbone followed by a very citrus, grassy and a bit flowery hoppy smell. Quite funky and really unique this Sorachi Ace hop. Very interesting T: Slightly sweet malts upfront which becomes quickly dry, citrus and bitter. I have the impression that it’s less bitter than the 2010 Edition (with Amarillo hops) but still stingy. Some notes of fruits and flowers M: Medium to heavy body. Good carbonation and a lemony and hoppy aftertaste O: Very drinkable. Strong Sorachi Ace hops profile which is kind of difficult in the beginning but quite pleasant whenever you become used with it. Again, not as good as the Amarillo version but still a Duvel’s masterpiece [ BA Review @ 4/27/2013 ]

(Rating #5783)

Butelka 0.33L
Wygląd: Złote-cytrynowe, mętne z obfitą, białą pianą, ładnie znaczącą szkło.
Aromat: Chmielowy, owocowo-cytrusowy, cebulowy, mandarynki, brzoskwinie, jasne słody
Smak: Intensywny, brzoskwiniowo-alkoholowy. Długi ziołowy posmak, goryczka średniointensywa.
Odczucie: Wysokie nasycenie CO2, ciało oniskie do średniego.
Całość: Porządne belgijskie, chmielona na zimno dając dodatkowo owocowe i cebulowe aromaty.

Not the best Tripel Hop I ever drank, but overall a good beer. As a belgian, it’s funny to have each year a new tripel hop. The ’normal’ Duvel isn’t that beer which it was 15-20 years a go and becomes a little bit lay after drinking hundreds of them. So each year, when spring begins, I still wait for the tripel hop. Taste of this tripel hop is a little bit agressive for a tripel hop, when I drink a tripel hop I expect a more friendly taste. But overall, a very good beer.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The 2013 version of the original Duvel Tripel Hop, to which I gladly refer, hopped with Sorachi Ace, apart from Saaz and Styrian (the hops also found in the regular Duvel). Essentially the same beer but the Sorachi Ace lends it a more lemony accent, exotic fruits and a more bitter finish.

Noble hops teaming up with "extreme Citra" in Mosaic. Strong, almost overwhelming acid in the aroma; mostly citrus but also tropical fruit and gooseberry leaves. Lots of citrus in the taste too, accompanied by tropical fruit. Lots of acidity.
