For this 2014 edition, our brewers have selected Mosaic. This new US hop variety enhances the beer with a tangerine sweetness, hints of tropical fruit and an interesting blueberry flavour.

Riktigt gott.

Fairly clear yellow honey colour. Hops, spice and yeast are all there but there is a certain leafy chlorophyll like quality as well. Big belgium beer, tasty stuff with a long length and well hopped that is enhanced by the carbonation. VERY good stuff.

This beer was not very good. It was too brash, too aggressive, too concentrated on hops. It has a taste of grapefruit, much like Cigar City’s Jai Alai. I recommend drinking this at political rallies.

0.33l bottle from Csakajósör. Moderate head with fruity aromas, fairly complex. Taste is bittersweet, more sweet than bitter. Too much carbonated for me, but this is Duvel, you have to live with it. Champagne-like beer with dry hoppy aftertaste, a bit like medicine. Better than with Sorachi, but worse than with Citra. Or maybe I am not so much in the champagne tolerating mood this time. Anyway, an interesting try to combine a fruity American hop with a dry European beer like this but the result is not so harmonic. One try was enough for me.

330ml brown bottle poured into a Duvel Tulip glass. Appearance is cloudy straw colored, with a large frothy beige head, that when reduced left a little lacing. Aroma of apricots, peaches, tangerines, banana, lemon zest. Flavours of apricots, banana, peaches, tangerines, lemon zest, spices and a hint of alcohol. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter. Palate is medium bodied, slightly sticky texture and lively carbonation. Compared to the regular Duvel, the Tripel Hop 2014 is quite different, it has a notable stronger more fruitier aroma. More bitter with sharper flavours. There is a slight presence of alcohol in the Tripel Hop and it’s not as smooth and mellow to drink as the regular brew. Overall the Duvel Tripel Hop 2014 is a first-rate beer.

Bottle from LCBO. Pours clear and yellow with a huge white head. Spicy aroma with light notes of tropical fruit. Tasty spice and sweet tropical fruit and pine. Boozy notes near the end. Dry finish. High carbonation and sticky body.

Trüb-gelbe Farbe, stabiler SChaum.

From bottle in Duvel glass. Floral and citric aroma. With some "sweat" notes. Pale appearance, relatively hazy with thick white head that remains for a while. Light body with lively carbonisation, thin texture and abrupt finish. Not west, neither bitter. Rather sour. Overall a quite good beer.

Bosskie (381) - NETHERLANDS - AUG 16, 2014
Beautiful shiny transparent beer with pale hay coliur, huge head and nice column bubbles. Smell is wood, minerals, orange juice sweetness and citriness. Subtle lime, basilicum, coriander. Reminds me a bit of champagne. Dry bitter taste. Watery, salty sour. Astringent finish. The smell is godly but the taste could have had a bit more duvel sweetness - bit toi dry as it is.

Aroma has mango and banana and some funkieness. Hazy golden white head. Taste is floral and bitter with a bit spicy alcoholic note.
