For this 2014 edition, our brewers have selected Mosaic. This new US hop variety enhances the beer with a tangerine sweetness, hints of tropical fruit and an interesting blueberry flavour.

11.2 oz stubby bottle best by 07 2016. Nose is extremely and pleasantly floral with a nice medium spicy kick, golden and grassy with faint citrus rind and fainter vanilla. Pours rich golden with a soapy white head. Taste golden and again very floral, citric malt squeezed out with fruit and a touch of grain, low-level warming, a green-vegetal component and lots of fresh hay and straw. Full body attenuated with hop juice sweetness, otherwise dry and satisfying, but fizzy at times. Very, very low level of bitterness, and instead of tropical fruit, I’d say this is more like candis; as for the advertised blueberry, it’s there deep in the bg, but not something obvious if you’re not looking for it. I’d say this is a bit of a step down from the normal Duvel with a mild case of hops clash, but still a pleasant drink.

330ml bottle. Clear, pale golden colour with average to huge, frothy, osteoporosing, minimally lacing, crystal-white head. Spicy yeasty and citrusy hoppy aroma, grassy, herbal and floral notes as well, some liquorice, sweet mustard, pineapple. Taste is citrusy bitter hoppy, sweet-ish floral, hints of mustard seed, a touch of liquorice, pineapple. Complex, spicy, with flavours full of rousing, jolting energy.

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. Hazy pale straw coloured with a floral citrus and tropical fruit flavour, a warming peppery hop and spicy fruity body followed by more warmth, lemon, blueberry and an alcoholic kick on the finish. Very Nice indeed!

Catty, grassy, lemony hop aroma from a hazy pale yellow body with a billowy white head. Taste is very much like a strong saison with dry hay and barnyard notes along with lemony citrus flavors. Good balancing honeyed sweetness. Alcohol is noticable but totally in tune with the flavors here. More orange and lemon at the end and there really is a bit of a blueberry flavor in there. Finishes dry and sweet with a lasting alcohol bite. Excellent and unique beer.

Bottiglia. Giallo pallido, torbida. Odore fruttato intenso. Ottima birra, esageratamente beverina in realzione ai 9,5 gradi. Grusto fresco, molto fruttato, poi subentra l’erbaceo che lascia un retrogusto amaro e persistente. Davvero valida.
