For this 2014 edition, our brewers have selected Mosaic. This new US hop variety enhances the beer with a tangerine sweetness, hints of tropical fruit and an interesting blueberry flavour.

Bottle in Brussels. Nice golden body with big head. Nose is citrus, hops and spices. Taste of lots of hops, spices and bitter notes. Really good beer!

Hazy pale yellow with small white head. Pear, citrus hops. Bitter, herbal, citrus. Acidity in the beginning, hoppiness. Dry finish. Medium body. Hoppy, but I like the original better.

Bottle. Clear golden color with good white head. Aroma: citrus, floral and something spicy. Taste slightly sour citrus, wine, alcoholized, but I liked it.

I guess this one has a little age. Fizzy with quite aniseed laden hops. It’s bitter but not in the crazy new world sense. I definitely see the tangerine, very unusual but quite subtle and kicks in late. Very unique and interesting.

Aroma of citrus. Taste of freshness and summer, though it is a heavy IPA. Great choice of hops. Overall well balanced and recommendable.

Aroma of pear, lemon zest, and a touch of airplane glue. Clear pale yellow, huge head. Pear and white grape. Grass finish. Medium body, soft carbonation. Very enjoyable.

From a bottle. Excellent hybrid beer by Duvel. Good carbonation level, clean, crisp mouthfeel, with a decent hop presence without seeming quite like a golden IPA. This beer has a 9.5% ABV level, yet does not taste at all hot like so many others beers at this alcohol level. Really one of the best beers I’ve had in the past few years.

Bottle poured a clear gold with a lasting white head. Aromas of straw, yeast, citrus and light tropical fruit. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, yeast, earthiness and light fruitiness with a crisp dry lingering bitter finish.

330ml bottle BBD 11 2016, poured into a Duvel glass at home in 8 2015. Slight haze to the golden pour, huge white blanket of foam on top. Yeasty and grassy in the nose: aggressive citrusy hop bite to the taste, really pronounced, crisp, semi-sour and bitter. The first beer on an afternoon of Belgian rates I am having with myself: no sharing!
