Quite different from the former trippel hops by duvel. A little too much citrus for my taste.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at Den Engel, Leek. Pours a clear straw colour with a thick, fizzy white head. Aroma of bready malt, grass, lemon, elderflower, some mango, straw, herbs and floral hops. Taste of bready malt, subtle caramel, lemon, mango, subtle blueberry, mango, slight pineapple, straw, light pepper, some yeast funk, grass and herbal hops. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. A harsh, herbal hop bitterness in the finish. Quite an aggressive beer which I wasn’t expecting. It’s hoppy and earthy though. Decent.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Poured from their disctinctive 330ml Belgian brown bottle into a snifter glass. Golden colour, slight haze, white foam, long-lasting with lace. Typical Duvel baseline aromas and flavours: pilsner graininess, hint of black pepper, clove, bubble gum, spicy Saaz and Styrian hops...except spoiled by poor handling. Musky and oxidized, unpleasant solvent taste and fusel alcohols, most likely light-struck and/or over-heated. Any beneficial Mosaic dry-hopping traits were dissipated or masked. I just bought this bottle, but it was poorly kept somewhere for the last year.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at home. High fluffy and long lasting white head. Cloudy light yellow body. Mild and rather sweet aroma of tropical fruits Solid malt base with tropical fruit flavors on top of a dusty hops bitterness as well as a good deal of alcohol. Low caronation. Long bitter finish. Blueberries? Well I guess they have let me down with my bottle.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
I drank this beer together with the 2015 edition, to make a good comparison between the to. The 2014 edition is one ore two tints darker. It has a rather light yellow color and is almost clear. It has a minimal cloudiness, slightly more than the 2015 edition. The beer has layer of rough foam. The bulk of the foam disappears in a few minutes, but a little layer remains on top of the beer. The foam on the 2015 edition remains a little longer. Just like the 2015 edition, the smell is strong and good. The hop aroma’s are again prominent. You can clearly smell that both beers have a different aroma. To express the difference in words is another story. The hop aroma is les citrusy and has a more floral/herbal appearance. It also has some pine aroma’s. The smell between the 2014 and 2015 editions are equally good, but totally different. The taste of the 2014 edition is slightly better. It has a less prominent alcohol smell. It has the same nice bitter taste, together with some sourness, which balance each other out. The little alcohol aroma balances the sweet ’n sour with its sweet taste. The mout sensation is very pleasant. Both beers are strongly carbonated. This results in a massage for the inside of the mouth.
