4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 adamjackson (99) - Canaan, New Hampshire, USA - FEB 11, 2012
Purchased this in December for Christmas. Had it exactly 12 months ago before I was into craft beer. Let’s see if my palate has changed!!! Poured into a Duvel Tulip at 50 Degrees F
A - Poured a 4-finger completely white head with big bubbles. The beer itself is classic duvel but with a lot dark tones and a lot more haze than I’m used to with a regular Duvel which I drink very often.
S - Bread, cereal, piney hops, apples and oranges. There’s a lot going on. There are classic Belgian ale notes but then this fantastic hoppy citrus smell
T - Bitterness explosion! This is a very bitter beer. No more breadiness though. It’s a lot of citrus and hops.
M - HUGE explosion of carbonation as I swished it around. all the liquid turned to bubbles. Goes down VERY easy
O - Wow. I thought this was too bitter last year. This year, after falling in love with Double IPAs, I’m in love!

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 alexsdad06 (2230) - Ohio, USA - FEB 1, 2012
Bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a light golden color with a big fluffy white head. The aroma has herbal hops, Belgian yeast, peppery spice with some background sweet candi sugar. The flavor has Belgian yeast, juicy fruits perhaps peach, pale malts, some sweeter notes work in here and there with the addition of some herbal and floral hops. Hints of peppery spice. There is a touch of alcohol as well. The additional hopsare an interesting spin on the base Duvel.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 laiti (1000) - Tampere, FINLAND - JAN 28, 2012
75 cl bottle @ home, BBE 18.05.2013
Rather nice and refreshing aroma with hops, some gooseberry bush and fruity belgian yeast. Feels a bit like saison. Foamy and dry palate with lots of CO2. Flavour has hops with gooseberry bush, some fruits, belgian yeast and urinal cake. The bush aroma gets stronger towards the end of the glass. Basically this is Duvel with extra hops as the name promises. If there was such thing as tickling hopping, it would exist in this bottle. Interesting stuff.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 tiong (1002) - Espoo, FINLAND - JAN 28, 2012
750ml bottle. 2010 vintage
Pours yellowish orange with a medium bubbly white head. Aroma of exotic fruits, spices, malts and hints of urinal cake and vegetables. Taste is quite tart with notes of fruits, hops and malts. Finish is slightly tart and spicy with notes of fruits. Quite bitter and too carbonated. Slightly unbalanced, but still quite tasty.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 lusikka (2062) - Tampere, FINLAND - JAN 28, 2012
750 ml bottle. 2010 version, BBE 18.05.2013.
Pours a cloudy pale yellow colour with a large foamy head. Aroma of pale malts, citrus, exotic fruits and urinal cake. Flavour of pale malts, citrus, exotic fruits, loads of hops and some sweetish caramel notes. Medium bodied, thick mouthfeel and strong carbonation. Long finish with fruits and pale malts. I like the bitterness here, but the urinal cake notes ruin the show.
