Launched 2007. Retired 2011. Replaced with an annual release, starting in 2012, using a different hop each year.
Made with three kinds of hops: Styrian Goldings, Saaz and Amarillo. Dry hopped with more Styrian, and an extra dose of malts to hold up.

Bottled. Hazy golden with a large, white head. Hoppy, grassy aroma with flowery citrus and notes of marcipan. Spicy, yeasty flavour with sourish notes. Medium, dry, hoppy, grassy bitterness.

Bottled. Has that typical rocky white head of its weaker sibling atop its clear light gold body. The aroma is spicy and yeasty. Sticky lemons. The taste is spicy and bitter. Nettle notes. Bigger alcohol but not necessarily bigger hops than regular Duvel. Some sharp lemony notes and an unbalanced complexity. Retronasal. Certainly not worth all that extra money, but worth the experience I suppose.

Bottled, thanks rickgordon! Lightly hazy golden, lasting head. Rich hoppy grassy nose with fruit and doughy malt underneath. A deep mouthfilling flavour of buttery malt and black currant. Hops are evident but not assaulting. Long grassy finish. Very good - one of the better of these new wave hoppy Belgian beers.

Bottle from miketd - thanks man! Golden color with a big, pillowy white head. Aroma dominated by sugar, oranges, and a nice dose of "C" hops - very inviting. Flavor is quite nice with a nice sugary sweet/floral to citrus hop mix that is overall good, but comes up a tad short of the better "hoppy tripels" (Capt. Lawrence, East End, Chouffe). Still a very nice entry into this niche category that was quite enjoyable.

Appearance: Pours a clear, pale yellow body with an explosive, foaming white head. Smell: Spicy, floral, soapy aroma with a touch of peach juice and some candyish hints in the background. Taste: Pale malts with a candi sugar sweetness. Dash of fruit peach juice. Plenty of spiciness to the hops added. Slight kick of acidity. Floral hints. Pinch of coarse ground black pepper. Warm, fruity finish with a lingering sour yeastiness. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Well carbonated. Drinkability: It’s pretty decent. The bumped up hoppiness compliments the original Duvel fairly well.

750ml bottle, caged and corked. Pours deep golden color. Huge off-white head. Aroma of medicinal hop. Some bubble gum. Woof. Flavor is a sharp, hop bitterness all on top of a bold malt body. The hops clearly dominate in the beer over the big malts. Big bitterness.

Yellow colour with a dense white head. Malty, sweet aroma with notes of flowers and fruit. Malty, sweet flavor with perfume notes. Light dry, floral finish with a vague alcohol note.
