Pale golden colour with a longlasting white head. Aroma of citrus, floral and some hint of banana. Fullbodied, and the alcohol is not noticible. Very good!
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20 Psytron (573) - Turku, FINLAND - MAY 15, 2012
Witbier colour, huge head. Citrus smell. A bit citric aroma, slightly sour, slightly bitter. Amazingly no alcohol aroma.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Brenhophead (217) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 15, 2012
330mL bottle into a duvel glass, pours clear straw colour with a nice big head and a doughy lemon zest aroma. Flavour has doughy/bread/earthy notes with slight citrus in the backround. I’m not a huge fan of the belgian yeasts but this beer is ok.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Lowenbrau (350) - SPAIN - MAY 10, 2012
330ml bottle. Sweet, herbal aromas. Pours pale gold, with really thick white head, very peristant, uncompacted. Some lacing. Light to medium body and high carbonation. Taste begins sweet, alcoholic, with bitterness developing. Then some fruit flavours appear. Good dry aftertaste, quite long. Really enjoyable, but extremely dangerous due to its abv.

Strong aroma and sweet, sharp, and crisp taste. Truely one of the best Belgian beers.

Sept 2007: from BA. I was suprised to see I hadn’t reviewed Duvel when I checked the Best of BA list the other day. I thought I had better get round to it.
All the best superlatives have been used by other BA drinkers and I don’t want to copy anyone. So this is just an amble type of ramble. Needless to say, I think this is a fantastic beer and have scored it accordingly.
I started drinking Belgian beers on a regular basis back in 1993 and I have always thought Duvel to be a great beer and a leader within the stronger Pale Ales produced in Belgium.
I have two Duvel glasses and there are always some bottles in my garage waiting to be cooled and drunk. My local supermarket (Morrisons) has Duvel on offer at £4.00 for three .33 litre bottles, that’s about $8.00 at todays exchange rate.
Being a member of the CAMRA Investors club means I have a few shares of the Duvel Moortgat brewery (part share of $67,000) and have had the pleasure of visiting the said brewery in 2005.
A very drinkable beer, one that I hope never changes its top quality ingrediants and I have put my money where my belly is too!

33cl bottle at Dingo Deli, Hoi An. Light golden with nice white head. Aroma of fruits, Belgian yeast and some hops. Sweet and fruity with a nice bitterness in the finish. Well integrated alcohol. Quite nice.
