Well what can I say? Duvel is so highly rated, but just does not fit my taste. The beer is good, don’t get me wrong, but does not blow me away as a king of beers. The aroma was great with a moderate yeasty kind of a doughy smell to it. A hint of honey was also detected and lasted all the way through the drink. The look and appearance is what really amazed me about the beer as it had a frothy fully lasting white head to it, and looked as if it were dancing in the glass. The golden hue was sparkling all the way down to the bottom and was clear as can be. Once I tasted it, it struck me with a heavy acidic flavor both in the beginning and the end. The yeast comes through with a hint of citrus and a long finishing flavor that lingers on the plate. Almost like a slight metallic finishing flavor to it. It had a light dry body that fizzed in my mouth. Again it seemed to have a bit of a metallic aftermath to it. A beer that would be good in paring with food, but not one I would chug. It does have some nice refreshment value to it. A beer that is to be celebrated and enjoyed, however, not an everyday type of beer I would consider. Drink on.

Bottle. Very intensive fruity ale with interesting spicy and tropical notes. There are sweet malt and warm alcohol in its taste. It has medium body and oily palate. Almost no hop feeling.

Appearance very light, lager like bubbles. Smell has citrus but very light in general. Palate has a nice tinkle to it, not so smooth. Taste fresh, acid, stingy. Overall don’t like it as much as others seem to.

Fruity flavor with hints of wheat bread, lemon, straw and honey. Really likes this beer and specially the aftertaste. Works perfect with mussels and other seafood!

Bottle in a Saltburn Café.ours a hazy straw colour with a big white frothy head. Sharp citrus and spice flavour with some bready yeast notes in the finish. High carbonation gives a full mouth feel. Good.
