Well what can I say? Duvel is so highly rated, but just does not fit my taste. The beer is good, donít get me wrong, but does not blow me away as a king of beers. The aroma was great with a moderate yeasty kind of a doughy smell to it. A hint of honey was also detected and lasted all the way through the drink. The look and appearance is what really amazed me about the beer as it had a frothy fully lasting white head to it, and looked as if it were dancing in the glass. The golden hue was sparkling all the way down to the bottom and was clear as can be. Once I tasted it, it struck me with a heavy acidic flavor both in the beginning and the end. The yeast comes through with a hint of citrus and a long finishing flavor that lingers on the plate. Almost like a slight metallic finishing flavor to it. It had a light dry body that fizzed in my mouth. Again it seemed to have a bit of a metallic aftermath to it. A beer that would be good in paring with food, but not one I would chug. It does have some nice refreshment value to it. A beer that is to be celebrated and enjoyed, however, not an everyday type of beer I would consider. Drink on.

33cl. bottle. Heavily commercialized beer from Belgium. Though is has become much sweeter than 10 or 15 years ago, it still remains my favorite strong ale. Great citrus like aroma, golden appearance which is very vivid carbonization. The foam is legendary. The taste and palate too. A great drink.

From 750ml, about $11 at grocery store, poured into Ommegang 16oz tulip glass

Aroma: bread, spice, dough, banana, wheat, spice

Appearance: initially clear, but hazy as the sediment mixes, golden, big frothy white head

Taste: light sweet, light bitter

Palate: light body, lively carbonation

Overall: One of my favorite Belgian beer. Just incredible. Bottles are super easy to find and reasonably priced even when compared to local 22s/750s. Just a great Belgian beer. Canít taste the alcohol. Very nice yeast characteristics.

Prezentacja: słomkowe, klarowne, trwała piana od drobnej do średniej ładnie zdobi ;
Aromat: pomarańcze, mosiądz, banany, goździki, limonka ;
Smak: landrynki, owoce - cytrusy i brzoskwinie, goryczka świetnie kontruje ;
Odczucie: treściwe, mocno nasycone, finisz kwaskowy i owocowy, alkohol lekko grzeje w przełyk, po pewnym czasie przychodzi goryczka i chwilę trwa ;
Ogůlnie: całkiem niezłe, mniej nagazowane byloby jeszcze lepsze

Bottle .33. Light gold colored. Hoppy and lightly bitter aroma. A tad floral also. Lively carbonation. Frothy to creamy head with good lacing. Medium bready flavored body warmed by itís alcohol. Creamy floral initial with spicy and slightly dry finish. Excellent tasting example of a "full bear". Mainstream Ale at itís finest.

330ml bottle. 10 2016. Very pale straw colour, effervescent, towering white head which refused to go away and sensational lacing. Gentle fruity aroma of apples and pears, floral, yeast, and some alcohol. Light fruity sweetness and light to medium bitterness. Smooth, medium bodied and spritzy with a bitter, dryness in the finish. Slight alcohol warmth. Perilously drinkable at 8.5%abv. A classic. 10.

Bottle. Large white, frothy and persistent head. Hazy pale straw color. Aroma is complex, citric with malty sweetness. Taste is acidic, sweet notes, sparkling with alcohol presence mixed with dry hoppy bitterness at the end. Bitter aftertaste. Very nice and complex mix of flavours and taste sensations.

Light gold color with a lasting average-size white head. Clear. Aromas are fairly complex and interesting - bread, dough and some hard to pin down spice, perhaps clove. The bottle I had also had just a very slight touch of skunk. The alcohol is fairly apparent. The finish is long with both sweetness and bitter apparent. I am not much of a fan of gold ales but this is a very good one.

Tiene todo lo que le pides a una Strong Ale, poco sabor a alcohol, entra bien, y ese toque dulzůn pero nada empalagoso, la verdad muy recomendable.

Bottle (12oz $5): Light golden color. Big 2 finger soapy head. Lots of bubles. Aroma slightly funky. Taste very fruity. Some sweetness. Some warming in the end. Nice
