Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Four generations of the Moortgat family have brought together Pilsner malts, Bohemian hops, and a unique yeast strain to create this intense, aromatic and beguiling ale. This Belgian favorite is best enjoyed chilled (40 - 50 F) with discerning friends or good-looking strangers.

330ml bottle. Super-fizzy pour, and the head lasts til the last sip. Color is a pale, slightly cloudy yellow. Fruit is heavy on the nose, and reminds me of the meads I used to brew. Apple/pear fruitiness is also prominent on the tongue. Belgian beers are not often among my favorites, but I’ll make exception for this one. Very drinkable.

Mind blowing. Monster head and lacing. Gorgeous white blonde color. Medium bodied hops and malts. But the third componant of yeast is other worldly. Simply the best.

Bottle. Pale yellow color with a big white head. Aroma of apples, spices, yeast, alcohol and sourness. Sweet, sourish and bitter taste with notes of fruit, spices, alcohol, yeast and grain. Crisp with lively carbonation. I find this beer to be a little bit too much on it´s own, but very good with food.

33cl, from De hopduvel Gent, complex, not easy to drink, clear, rocky head, good brew, but not a topper

This yellow bottled beer has an enormous fluffy head. The aromas and flavours seems very typically Belgian to this drinker more accustomed to British and American beers: slightly sour and spicy and quite fizzy on the tongue. It’s well made -- I can’t really fault it -- but I don’t think I’d seek it out.

Bottle @ home. This stuff is native to my fridge. Beautiful golden yellow colour, enormous thick and rocky white head. Aroma of yeast, some malts and fruits. Flavour is sharp/peppery, malty, bittersweet and when it warms up a bit sour. Long lasting alcohol finish with a little bitterness. Mouthfeel is soft though, making it highly drinkable. This one slaps you right in the face, be careful!
