UPDATED: NOV 17, 2006 Bottle at home, a nice sixpack including a beautiful glass. The Belgian devil beer, there is only 3,5% more alcohol in it comparing to normal pilseners, but when you drink a couple of these bastards it feels like there was at least 5% more. But it doesn’t affect the taste so it really hits you like a ’devil’ (that’s where they got the name from) The really ’clean’ color with a nice big head gives this beer a beautiful appearance.

Backlog from lost & found notes: Aroma of yeast, apple and pears, spices, white wine. Taste is citrus, grass, yeast and a touch of alcohol. Kinda boring.

330ml bottle into tulip. Slight acidic fruit aroma. Cloudy orange juice appearance, frothy white head. Even carbonation, tiny bubbles. Spritzy mouthfeel, oily texture. Finish is long, bitter lemon/grapefruit with a touch of caramel. It’s good but I’ve enjoyed other Belgian ales more.

Herber deutlich hefiger Antrunk mit frischen und zitronigen Kräuternoten. Spritzig, milde Bitterkeit. Die Hefigkeit wird dunkler, geringfügig alkoholisch. Leider wenig komplex, dennoch rund. Gut. 8/11/10/11/9/11

This must be part of my lost ratings, have rated the triple hop series but not the classic. Bottle at my AirBnB, served in a wine goblet it is a bright gold with a thick foamy white head. The nose is grassy, bready and bright green hops. Raspy mouthfeel with some boozey heat down my throat. The taste is sweet golden honey, grass, herbal and very dry in the finish. Good but at 8.5% this is not an everyday sipper for me. The new mini-bottles are a good call.

Bought at sainsbury’s , morecambe, served lightly chilled in duvel glass. Massive white head on top of hazy pale beer . Slightly herby citrus flavor, (not dissimilar to a saison) with a slightly bitter after taste.
