Four generations of the Moortgat family have brought together Pilsner malts, Bohemian hops, and a unique yeast strain to create this intense, aromatic and beguiling ale. This Belgian favourite is best enjoyed chilled (40 - 50 F) with discerning friends or good-looking strangers.

UPDATED: JAN 20, 2007 Light golden yellow color with incredible head. Aroma is quite yeasty. Flavor is quite nice, yeast with a hint of sweetness. Dry finish. Excellent.

Ljusgul, smått dimmig med vit fin krona. Doftar kryddigt, lite citrus och banan. Smaken syrlig och frisk, något alkoholanstruken. Lite för mkt kolsyra. Bättre på fat?

Although Belgian ales aren’t my favorite styles (or the least pleasing me, either), it is easy to realize that Duvel is a great, great beer. Simply it feels the dedication it took to produce it. You have to try. In my Top5 so far.

Zbyt wytrawne. Z kolei prezencja jest rewelacyjna. Ogrom piany z pięknym zdobieniem szkla ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours pale and clear yellow with a white head. Malty aroma of banana, yeast and herbs. Medium body, thick feel, fizzy carbonation. Taste of lemon zest, grass and some caramel. Long finish with hop resin and lingering alchohol.

Bottle. BB 03/17 8 srm, close to pale yellow, clear. Skunky like a Heineken, pils malt, stinky piss, wort stained brewery floors, fresh cut grass. Some baby diaper funk. Melon, honeydew esters. Boozy, skunky. Must be an off bottle. This is nothing special. Will try again.

Zwaar bier, daar moet je niet teveel achter elkaar drinken op nuchterige maag.

Bottle must have been shaken from the car ride home. Foam everywhere and huge pieces of yeast were in the head. I will be revisiting this one eventually.

God belgisk strong ale. Burde være drukket mere kold. Flot farve på øl og skum.

Champagne like appearance with significant carbonation. Light belgium spiciness with boozyness that sneaks up on you. Like a lot of domestic belgians a lot more but enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours sparkling clear golden with huge frothy white heat. Aroma is yeast, spice, banana, clove and some sweet pale malt. Taste is more spicy and triple’ish, yeast, some clove and sweet malt, peach. Some candied sugar. High carbonation, refreshing and slight alcohol in finish. Subtle wheat too. Light bitter and light dry.
