Definitely my favorite Belgian beer, although Chimay Blue is the other that I like. I had a Duvel month a couple of years ago, when I drank it several times a week. But after the first bottle, which I thought was one of the finest beers I ever had, it got old, and fast. I just don’t like Belgian beers. Definitely in large part because the yeast they use tastes terrible. I think that you are either a Belgian fan or you aren’t.

Poured from 33 cl bottle. Hazy, light golden colour with huge head with excellent retention and lacing. Nose is fruity and yeasty. Taste follows the nose with malty and citrus notes. Alcohol is well hidden. Slight bitterness. Medium body with excellent carbonation. Overall, a very drinkable and tasty beer.

"i like the head, but after that it really did nothing for me that would make it stand out from any other belgian blonde/strong. That said, it’s pretty good, just not unique."

Classic 330ml bottle poured in a Grimbergen chalice. As mentioned by others, it’s difficult to review such a "simple" and "popular" beer which is, at the same time, so fantastic. A: Pours a pale yellow hazy color, nothing special. However, its head is impressively big (actually, huge), bubbled, creamy and persistent. Tons of lacings are left S: Smell is a bless. Really. Spicy. Stingy. Citrus. Sweet grains. Special attention to the Belgian yeasts and citrus and grassy hops T: Taste follows the nose. I mean, exceptional. Sweet grains, Belgian yeasts and hops, oh yeah, wonderful hops. In overall, a quite dry beer in the palate. The bitter aftertaste is just a must M: Heavy creamy body. Huge carbonation. Excellent bitterness O: The truth is that its taste is simply extraordinary: Delicious malt taste and very bitter end. Its mouthfeel and drinkability are just perfect to a beer with such a high ABV. Therefore, IMHO this beer has a good reputation just because it deserves it... Cheers [ BA Review @ 1/9/2010 ]

Excelente, sem tanto amargor, mas muito lúpulo! Aparência com certa turbidez, e bem aromática.
