J Gingembre (5% alc./vol.) has lemony tones with a firey undertaste of ginger to stir the soul!

2005 bottle provided by tiggmtl and shared with him and Muzzlehatch, 6/3/05. Very clear pour, light yellow, looks like ginger ale, to be honest. Small white head fades rapidly to ring, with light lacing. Rusty yellow tinges on the edges of the body. Smells of ginger snaps, vanilla, slight slight dough. Flavor begins with ginger, green tea, bits of honey. Slightly heather, cotton-like finish (like cottonballs in your mouth). Bits of sugar throughout and just the slightest bit of grainy, bready malt. Medium body, not terribly water, good amount of carbonation. My rating is for a spice/herb/vegetable, not for a biere de garde style.

first sip was acceptable, after that iit was drinkable only by squeezing in the rest of my lime in the fridge. Its a biere de garde taste, promising pour, but ginger doesn’t help it. Tinny taste

Bouteille LCBO, Mai 2005.

Courtesy of pintbypint. Alumminium 330ml bottle. Ingredients listed as beer and ginger. Light and bright gold coloring with only traces of a head. The aroma is rich and buttery apples with some white wine. The taste is fairly dry grapes and some traces of the ginger in the aftertaste. There is a faint citrus hint in here with some hay. A nice light brew that makes a great summer refresher.

Aluminum bottle from the LCBO- GOlden coloured body with a thin white head. Aromas are hops, mild mild ginger, other herbs, chemicals? taste is a little off...ginger, some hops bitterness, tonic water, grass. FInish is watery, dry, boring. I imagine the bottle will be a cool collectible though.

Definitely a very cool aluminum bottle. Ginger and soapy aroma. Clear blond, light carbonation, smallish head. The flavor has some breadyness, faint chalky note, and of course ginger. Bit of an oily texture.

slick packaging, the little aerosol canister looking aluminum package; part can, part bottle-- very futuristic looking. if the beer was any good, i’d envision filling a bandolier with about a dozen of them for parties. what dribbles out is less impressive, a rather drab and nearly headless beverage, the sickly yellow of advanced hepatitis. the rubbed ginger smell was forthcoming, but other aspects of aroma tended to recede as the nose-- not very enthusiastically-- pursued them. celery and rubber bands, a tad medicinal. it has a spritzy effervescence that wears itself out quickly-- so take heed: ’warm’ and flat is not where this beer should be allowed to go. spank it down cold and quickly for best results. a quick guzzle will cause sparks of palate cleansing refreshment, and for a soda pop, it’s not dreadfully sweet. predictably thin, ginger and mild lemon on top of a veeeeery light pils body. as far as a beer, it’s kind of like a very earnest 12 year old wanting to be a fire fighter. obviously, he can’t measure up, but why be mean and say it to his face?

Clean golden lager with slight straw head. Light ginger aroma with a poor lager aroma. Stale aroma refeshing ginger taste. Slight bitter palate... I like ginger I’m bias a bit towards this.
