Stupid little metal bottle. I had this once before I started rating and had no intention of ever having it again -- damn you RateBeer! Pours a somewhat flat looking clear pale gold with a small bubbly white head. Aroma is ginger-ish along with a few other spices and a touch of lemon -- but it’s also kind of artificial. Flavour’s the same and it’s somewhat watery -- but very carbonated. It’s pretty much like a generic Ginger Ale so avoid if you’re in the mood for something resembling beer. Not sure how you rate something that doesn’t taste like beer at all? Oh well, nothing else to add...Edited to add: when it starts to warm up it tastes like flat Ginger Ale. Ugh.

Originally rated April 2005. My first Bière de Garde experience à la gingembre ! I bought this at the LCBO on Rideau in Ottawa, Ontario. Comes in a very cool aluminium bottle with some funky paint over it. Pours a golden colour with lively carbonation. The small head creates some good lacing after its quick fall. Mmmm.... the aroma of ginger really stands out with hints of grainy malt. The mouthfeel is creamy and smooth. Its taste is very close to the pop drink ginger ale, with a metallic finish and a long smooth ginger aftertaste. Quite expensive for a brew, but worth it being a good different spiced bière de garde.

330ml aluminum bottle, purchased from LCBO years ago. I found both the beer and the ginger taste rather mild. Overall, not so bad.

This teste likes ginger ale minus the sugar, and with alcohol. It takes all the natural sweetness out of the ginger, and leave you with this bitter ginger mess.

July 05. Straw with a weak head. The aroma has a lot of ginger, just like the flavour, that is slightly metallic and rather thin, it reminds me of a lager with ginger. Not a nice one IMO.

(Rating #526)

Why bother? Just drink Ginger Ale! Golden colour, white head that dissipate slowly. Not that bad, but not that original either.

Bottle (Aluminum) Pours a golden yellow with a head that leaves quickly. You can discern ginger on the nose mixed with bread and skunkiness. Was not able to detect any ginger in the flavor or its alledged "fiery undertaste". Beer was citric with funky flavors. Definately not enjoyable. Thanks Blankboy for the bottle or should I say cylinder.
