Gee the aroma in this fellow is hoppy, for a belgiun fellow. Grassy hops believes me that this is a bitter. Taste is also immencely bitter hops with grassyiness but the malt kicks in just in time to give it a little balancing. Not my stsyle of beer to much bitterness. Not bad all the same.

Pours a light copper with a yellowish head. High sweetness, medium bitterness. Aromas of caramel, liquirish and alcohol and hints of burnt and spices. Full bodied. Lots of flavor. Very long and nice bitter/liquirish finish. Quite good beer.

Burnt gold in colour, big impressive white head...overall looks fab! Nose is a heady mix of malt, spice and honey. Bursts with flavour...malt,light spice and a soft acidity. The finish just goes on & on...great beer! Alcohol is 7.5%. This was brought back from France by a visiting friend. Where to buy in Scotland/Borders?

Jenlain is actually a very good beer, and in my opinion it is one of the best beers in Northern Fance. It pours a cherry-copper color with a nice white head. The nose is fuity, and it drinks a bit like an American Ale - there’s a bit of caramel, moderate carbonation, hints of fruits and flowers. The alcohol is fairly high, but it isn’t overly present in the palate.

Deep coppery crimson color with a fair sized cap of ivory frumpy froth. Pulls a nice curtain of lace across the glass as it settles and tends to keep most of it around. Aroma is earthy, spicy, and sweetly subdued with a backdrop of honey, apple skins, and berries. Nice little hints to grasses and musty trees. Taste is smoothly rich and malty with good additions of spice and fruits. Calm and centered fruits of apple, apricot, pear, and tamer citruses make for a good portion of its flavor. Creeping in with little crisp hints are some lightly alcoholic esters and phenolic spices. Finishes with a bit of musty and dried grasses. Kinda like a thicker herbal/fruit tea. The malts are good to have around in this one. Feel is pretty good; clean, fruity, and closing in on bold, the malts really help add a sophisticated thickness and smoother, creamier character to its mediumish body. Some dryness of musty grassy yeast and phenols make for a complexing little finish. This grew on me as I went. At first it seemed just fine but added a bit more interest as it went along. Perhaps not enough to push my numbers higher, but worthy of giving it a solid rating and recommending it to myself to perhaps grab again sometime.

50 cl can. No yeast in bottom. Amber colour with a white fast disappearing head. Malty aroma with hints of alcohol and caramel. Sweet flavour with notes of caramel. The finish ends up with a warm and nice feeling from the alcohol.
