| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 1, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) Very beautiful amber coloured beer, slightly hazy with a thick, creamy head. Very full-bodied with a distinct sweetness, malty and aromatic. But lacks some of the fruity notes found in the best Belgian ales. 220501 Suttree (2708), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 16, 2005 Brownish red with a sizey white head. Nice apple cider aroma with a hint of cherry. Nicely rustic flavors of applebutter on toast with an appealing dryness at the finish. ToadMan (554), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 15, 2005 Copper color with a nice lacey head. Aroma is malty and lightly fruity. Taste starts off with a respectable balance of lightly bitter hops and softer malt tones. gives way to more light fruits tones, apple and pear, and a somewhat hoppy finish. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 12, 2005 11.2 oz. bottle, the first time I’ve seen it in this format...
Clear, crimson colorint, intense carbonation, rocky, creamy, off-white head that stays a long, long time...
Aroma, sweet and rosy, fruits aplenty, the darker ones, grapes, berry, melon...
Taste: nice bit of hops up front, bold and bright, more brisk fruit shining through...refreshing and flavorful. Medium bodied, with a gentle, fruity, hoppy finish. Nice play on the mouth, this gives much and takes little, offers rewards with each new sip.
There are better biere de gardes, but once this is in my mouth, I find it hard complain about a lack of transcendence in my glass...nice beer, ’nuff said. beeryum (652), Norcross, Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 11, 2005 Bottle. Clear gold amber pour. Sweet malty, fruity, and a little eathy/woody flavors. Maybe some apple hints, but I was thinking maybe a shade too malty. Very drinkable. aracauna (2374), Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 9, 2005 Pours a medium amber with a decent head. Caramel dominates the malt flavor, slightly musty. Lots of apple skins in the flavor. Not a bad beer.
