Musty, corky aroma with a fair bit of stone fruits (apricot and peach I think). Slight sourness which played very nicely with the sweet maltiness and slight bitterness. Good amber/copper colour and head retention. Publican (16), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

Deep red body, medium head, mostly lasting. Rather wide range of flavour encompassing spices, orange (it may be the season, but I keep detecting orange flavours in all my beers these days!), and a somewhat rusty aroma. Strongly hoppy but balanced overall. Dry finish. Very nice, original and drinkable. This one has to be the first french brew that I really liked. chriso (4777), London, Greater London, England

Fairly sweet and sticky. Certainly a winters beer, just fit for tonight. Re-rated, 1 Feb 04: Thought it was slightly better the second time around. MaBeer1972 (421), Leominster, Massachusetts, USA

Deep amber hue with nice foamy head, but not unruly that I had to wait to sip it. Wonderful smooth and buttery mouthfeel. The flavor is balanced between the malts with a bit of tartness on the backside. I just can't believe how incredibly smooth this one is!
