Bottle. Reddish colour, little head. Sweet fruit and spice in the aroma and in the flavour. Not overpowering. Thin but smooth body, not overly carbonated.

Tasty. A mellow ale like brew. Lovely mild flavour with depth of malt character. Smooth on the palate and little to no bitter aftertaste.

Pretty mellow beer overall and nothing too exciting. Toasted malts do offer some character, mildly nutty, mildly chocolaty, with a little sourness in the finish, but pretty straightforward. As Oakes says: "simplistic vienna malt character."

Sweet malty and fruity at first, then the hiops starts to come through. A very drinkable biere de garde. Allmost as good in can..

Nice reddish color. Strong malt aroma and flavor. Strong body, a little sweet and syrupy, dark chocolate perhaps, a bit of alcohol.

Dark gold-amber in colour. Very low carbonation, yielding little head. Light clean malty aroma, no esters diacetyl or phenolics. Big clean malt flavour. More like a light bock in flavour in that regards. The bitterness is a little high though balances out the high malty, sweet beer well. It has a definite, silky texture that is extremely pleasant.

Bottled. Copper orange, initialy good fluffy white head that soon drops to thin foam. Moderate condition. Low caramel and hop aromas, more caramel in the mouth but fairly understated for a biere de garde. Hop bitterness develops in the finish. Doesn’t seem like 6.5%.

Color is the same as conditioned stoneware cookware. Large off-white head. Sweet malt aroma and taste, slightly bitter. Not bad for $2/750ml.
