Large off-white head. Pleasant malty aroma with notes of aromatic hops, leather and oak. Malty and oaky flavour with tolerable hops, notes of toffee and caramel. Not bad at all for a canned beer! Sweet taste, some caramel/toffee that is not too thick so therefore very easy to drink, also some fennel though not too much else. Alcohol is only just warming. Enjoyed this! Clear, crimson colorint, intense carbonation, rocky, creamy, off-white head that stays a long, long time...
Aroma, sweet and rosy, fruits aplenty, the darker ones, grapes, berry, melon...
Taste: nice bit of hops up front, bold and bright, more brisk fruit shining through...refreshing and flavorful. Medium bodied, with a gentle, fruity, hoppy finish. Nice play on the mouth, this gives much and takes little, offers rewards with each new sip.
There are better biere de gardes, but once this is in my mouth, I find it hard complain about a lack of transcendence in my glass...nice beer, ’nuff said. Kinz (2221), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA

Medium, clear, amber with a touch of orange, no apparent yeaast in the bottle. Aroma was woodsy with a touch of apple. Pleasant flavor, fresh cut oak, touch of apple, and a growing caramel presence as it warmed. Not the most complex thing in the world, but quite refreshing and enjoyable. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
