Lacing, white head, amber color. Has a toasty caramel undertone to it with light hops on top. Goes down easy.

Amber biere de garde. 750 ml bottle with champagne style cork. Lively fizz. Nice dark amber appearance. Malty nose. Some balancing bite on the palate. Quite full bodied. Soft finish. Bottled, France, December 2003

Red/Amber colour with a small head. Malt and a bit of fruit in the aroma. Taste of malt, spice and caramel. Nothing exceptional, but still a appreciable. In southern France, it is often the only decent beer available at the grocery.

33 cl bottle: my first biere de garde. the pour is a nice amber color with a creamy non retenting head. highly carbonated.aroma is od grassy hops and malt, hints of caramel. the flavors is kind of like that of a vienna. overall quite matly but nicely balanced. caramel flafors with some herbal grassiness. sweet kinda buttery honey flavors. fruity with a slightly sour finish. anise and vanilla. a decent beer, the best french beer i have had.

red amber copper colour with no foam... I’m not sure what to make of a biere de garde but it has amber oak and caramel flavours and is very sweet on the palate. I liked this beer.

330ml bottle. Red/Amber dark color, nice white head. Sweet with a bit of bitterness that I associated with campari, and some sourness. Ok mouthfeel. Nice beer, but a little pricey over here...

Canned version. It is bitter, almost sour, and sweet at the same time. There are lots of fruit and flowers in the taste - peaches sums it up. Alcohol content of 7,5% and it probably needs that to draw out the complex flavours. It needs the fizz in the can, too, when it gets flatter towards the bottom of the glass, it loses its balance.
