Bottled. Golden beer with a light fruity nose. The flavour is quite sweet and tart with a wine like quality. Altogether a poorish beer.

Geschmacklich ist es fruchtig, hopfig und speziell malzig (leicht bitter), schon lecker aber doch etwas besonderes dem man ein bisschen mehr Zeit wärend des trinkens lassen sollte. Fruchtig-hopfig, bitter-malzig. Fazit: Voll ok!

Pours dark golden with steady but gentle bubbles and a lovely head. Nose of pale malt, flowers, custard and lemon. Taste of pineapple, lemon and hay. Palate is medium bodied with a big tangy texture and a fresh tangy finish. Overall, a tasty blonde.

Bottle - 750mL corked and caged. Soft amber pour with a tall, foamy white head. Aroma is sweet with candied fruit, soft yeast, earthy and grassy hops and soft flowery notes. Taste is sweet malt, light caramel, ripe fruits, soft floral hops, light grassy notes, and soft yeast. Body is light-medium with a frothy, bubbly carbonation and a light stickiness. Finishes with more sweet malt, candied fruit, light caramel, grains, grass, straw and dusty yeast.

A light spicy pils aroma. First sign of hops from these guys. A light floral hop that makes it pretty tasty.

Corked and caged green 75cl bottle, best before 17th April 2008, this is the first of three beers I drank in honour of John White and Micheal Jackson, to celebrate their lives on 30th Aug 2007.
Both John and Micheal knew this breweries beers well and although they didn’t spend a great amount of time in France, they appreciated their finer products. Biere de Garde being one of them.
I poured the beer into a Duvel glass, the remaining half went into a Hoegaarden Grand Cru tulip glass. Both glasses looked great, a bright, crystal clear, golden body of beer filled them both, a firm white foaming head sat on top.
The aroma was all yeast and barley/wheat/cereals in general, some grass and hay too. A countryside smell, without the animal odours. The aroma grew as the beer warmed, not that it had chance to warm up a great deal, I was on a mission and had two more 75cl bottles of different beers to attack.
The taste was fairly sweet, certainly sweeter than I was expecting. The alcohol came through hard and fast, which took away the first sweet impression and the aftertaste was a lot dryer, it also became a little metalic in the mouth, wasn’t expecting that either.
I was hoping to be able to say wonderful things about this beer, but sadly it didn’t live up to my expectations. A good beer that I was expecting to be great.
3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 dinkle50 (333) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 7, 2012
Deep hazy gold color. Medium head stuck around for a bit. Aroma is very yeasty. Almost a metallic aroma too. Taste has a strong alcohol note. Sweet finish full of peach. Taste isn’t bad, but I’m not overly fond of the strong alcohol. I’d say overall this is a bit boring, but not terrible either.

White weak head. Deep golden colour. Aroma is malty with bread, corny and light fruity notes, slightly metallic. Flavor is malty too with moderately fruity (ripe apricots and pears) tones, ending in a moderately malty finish. Light bodied.

Bottle. Pours a hazy, golden-orange with white head. Aroma of caramel sweetness and a hint of barnyard. Flavors of caramel, butterscotch, and apples. Interesting beer, I think the taste is a bit syrupy.

Giusto giusto da bere per digerire, prima di andare a coricarsi, perchè in effetti non è proprio indimenticabile...
