COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s Note: Formerly known as Fraîche de l’Aunelle.

Brewed according to a recipe dating back to 1922, this "revisited" blond beer is a great thirst quencher, appreciated by lovers of traditional and innovative beers! Pale blond in colour and naturally cloudy, being unfiltered, Jenlain Fraîche is pleasing to the eye and to the palate, with its fine, light taste. Stronger than white beer and less bitter than blond beer, it has a subtle hint of hazelnut which gives it its characteristic fruitiness. With its low alcohol content (5 % alcohol by volume), it is also low in calories. Best served chilled but not too cold, at between 5 and 6 °C. The striking design of the bottle with its "condensation" effect, as if taken fresh from the fridge, and cool blue-green tones, is closer to the world of mineral and sparkling waters. Jenlain Fraîche stands out as a beer that is subtle, simple, accessible and extremely refreshing.

This is called ’Bionelle’ in DK. Very nice beer, a bit cloudy, refreshing with appropriate bitterness

It really should be very natural this brew but it doesn´t look very appetizing; more like the last doping-test-sample from an East-German Hammer-thrower, but the taste is quite good.

UPDATED: JUN 14, 2006 (Bottle 25 cl) Comes as "La Fraiche de L’Aunelle" at 5,5% ABV. One of the first organic beers in France. Oddly the brewery’s website mentions that this beer was voted "World’s best" in a Danish competition in Denmark in 2000! Well, no official contest, I can asure you... Light, slightly hazy with a gigantic head that settles very slowly. Huge sediment in the bottle. Extremely fresh aroma with a pronounced bitterness and a citric touch. Clear bottle. 190804 and 110606

Big white head and a cloudy yellow/orange colour. Spicy and lemony aroma, thatis slightly unpleasant. Gentle bitter wheat beeresk flavour. Overall a reasonable beer that reseambles some form of wheat beer.

Cloudy whitish yellow. Difficult for me to get the nuances of the aroma, but there is a certain freshness about it. The flavour is a little sweet with citrusnotes. Not much bitterness but its crisp. Quite nice.

Bottle from Tanakaya ini Tokyo. Contains wheat malt. Medium golden blonde, enormous head, bubbly like champagne, cloudy. Fruity aroma, lots of citrus and grapefruit. Sweetish, some yeast. Honey. Sweetish flavor, but with citrus, honey, sour, hops. Very light body, refreshing as well, with sweet but not overly so. Lighter than a usual Belgian blonde, though tasking like one, but also something like a Golden Ale. Very interesting. A great summer beer. Not super, but nice and refreshing. Would dig a few more hops iin there.

Bottled. Hazy pale yellow with lively head. Papery malt aroma. Medium sweet, fresh and light bodied with soft, carboardy naltiness and a mild, flowery finish. A nice, easy-drinking unassuming little beer.

Pale gold - a little anaemic with a nice white head. Weak lemon drink aroma with a touch of spice. Flavour is sweet and sour with more sourness on the finish. Quite thin, but unusual.
