Commercial Description:
With its splendid golden hues and fruity tones, Jenlain No. Six has a distinctive bitter finish and a hoppy nose. The barley-scented liquor sparkles under its light, foamy head. Light and thirst-quenching, with a rich characteristic savour, it is best served at between 5 and 6°C, with a meal or as an aperitif. Filtered, and lagered but unpasteurised.

Editor’s Note:From 2000 until March 2005 this was known as Jenlain Blonde. The name Jenlain Blonde now is used for a new (March 2005) product of 7.5% abv.

500ml can Sweet candy malts, brioche bread notes. Pepper and ripe apricot packed into a soapy looking blond beer. Balance is not good, mediocre at best.

bottle. Poured clear gold with some sediment and a huge white head. Sparkling carbonation. Hefty aroma of alcohol and peppery spice. Mouthfeel was much more mild than I expected, very smooth. Sweet malty corn grain flavour with a buttery quality to it. Low bitterness. I friend brought this back from a trip, I wish he had brought more.

A Mes rate: bottle from Kris Wines.
Pale gold with a reasonably impressive head. Sweet and yeasty, some spicy citrus notes and maybe a bit of honey. Floral finish with some fainrly obvious alcohol.

Bottle from the bosses had on the Picadilly line home. Alround rating: Massivly carbonated, pale gariny malts, herbal spicey hop character, hints of butteryness. I think this said bbf 2007 on it so perhaps not in hot nick.

2006 vintage bottle pour. The aroma was sweet malt with hints of citrus.Nice amber/gold color with a good white head.Flavor was a nice mild hop and sweet malt flavor.Had a bit o a metallic aftertaste but was not too harsh.Alcohol was hidden well and the carbonation was very good and went down easy.I like this and could be a really good session beer.
