COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Odd small bottle, looks old fashioned. Simple brown clean body and small head. Roasted and doughy malts, simple whole wheat bread, dark spices like bay leaves and dried fruit like dades. Belgian mouth feel and taste, refined and not terribly complex yet full enough to be enjoyed. Not very thick yet enjoyable body. Classic in any respect, but the 7% alcohol gives some nice warming feel. Yeah, not bad at all. (25cl bottle from Saveur Bière)

Bottled. Deep red colour with a mediumsized slightly off white creamy head. Aroma is caramel, toffee and some slight floral notes along with mild ripe fruitiness as well. Flavour is mildly toasted malts, some caramel, ripe fruits and also a rather big bitterness in the finish, which isn’t that normal for a beer of this style.

Can at the 500 Miles Tasting, the Sham - you are welcome, gents. Pours clear, light brown with a fine, creamy head. Lightly toasted, semi-dark malts in the nose. Medium sweet flavor, simple brown bread malts, light caramel. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Light dry, sugary brown bread to finish, mellow caramel. Simple but OK.

Bottled 250ml Saveur. Deep amber color, small beige head. Caramel, some alcohol, grassy notes, a bit malty aroma. Medium-bodied. Quite caramelly, some alcohol, grassy hoppy notes, raisiny fruityness. One of the better Jenlains.
