Commercial Description:
Formerly known as Sebourg beer, this was rebaptized Saint Druon de Sebourg in 2000.
Malted barley and 3 varieties of hops grown in Alsace form the basis of this recipe, which, unlike Duyck’s other beers, also contains wheat from the Beauce region of France, milled in the traditional way by Sebourg’s miller. And to give it an even more distinctive flavour, the Duyck’s use a specific strain of yeast exclusive to the beer.
St. Druon de Sebourg is the French version of a blonde abbey ale, similar in style to those found across the nearby border in Belgium. It is spicy and effervescent, and much hoppier than typical bière de garde.

Hazy straw body with a solid, good-lacing head. Light aroma with lemon, fresh hay, a yeasty fruitiness, and mild spicing. Light in the mouth, sweet malts, lemon & orange with a tart finish. Why am I using fragments?

Bottle. Light gold with a small white head of bubbles. Aromas are light and fruity with citrus, yeast and spices. Flavours are light, sweet buttery malts with citrus fruit. Lightly flavoured but still pleasant.

Draft at the Abbaye. Crystal clear light yellow ale, no head, minimal fizz. Lots of apples - dry, some spice, but I had to keep askiing if this weren’t some cider or cider/ale mix. Light and refreshing for a Sunday brunch.

Medium golden blonde color, faint white head. Drying green fruits with some lemon in the taste, somewhat hoppy and dry at the finish.

The beer pours a beautiful dark gold with a very slight haze. This is topped off by a large, meringue-like head that lasts forever. Slightly spicy yeast aroma and stone fruits like apricot make up much of the aroma. The flavor is fairly malty and lightly sweet. Pretty tasty.

I found this beer a little better than most raters, but still far from exceptional. Nice (typical) blond color and large head start the brew. Fairly normal odor, and a crisp, refreshing flavor. Some raters found this beer a bit skunky, which could be due to the green bottle (as opposed to the brown in the photo). Mine was fine, and a nice beer.
