Commercial Description:
Formerly known as Sebourg beer, this was rebaptized Saint Druon de Sebourg in 2000.
Malted barley and 3 varieties of hops grown in Alsace form the basis of this recipe, which, unlike Duyck’s other beers, also contains wheat from the Beauce region of France, milled in the traditional way by Sebourg’s miller. And to give it an even more distinctive flavour, the Duyck’s use a specific strain of yeast exclusive to the beer.
St. Druon de Sebourg is the French version of a blonde abbey ale, similar in style to those found across the nearby border in Belgium. It is spicy and effervescent, and much hoppier than typical bière de garde.

This golden ale pours with no head. There is an initially sweet hoppy flavor with a slightly bitter finish. A bit watery tasting at first, but the flavor intensifies as the beer warms.

Low white head on a golden body. Aroma isn’t much to talk about, and the taste is metallic, probably because the bootle was opened long after the limit date (3 months overdue). I will have to retry with a newer bottle.

Pours a nice cloudy golden color. Not much head. Slight wine nose, some spice. Spicy and earthy flavor but thin body.

Best before 03/2005 drank on 03/2005: Cloudy light orange with a rocky white head, spicy aroma with pepper and lemon, starts and ends light sweet, and ends dry. Decent, but not something that I would buy again.

750ml - Poured a hazy golden body and a gigantic eggshell head. That aroma was lightly peppery, more yeasty and doughy with lemony angles to it. The body was rustic and oily but the finish was snappish and dry. It seemed a bit dirty and raw, very grassy and green apple like.

Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), lightly hoppy (herbs), with notes of coriander, plastic, and alcohol. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Unpleasant from start to finish...plasticky, dirty tasting, watery, blah.

Hazy golden straw. Slightly soapy head. Mild apricot in the nose. Dry to start. Almost pils-like. Grassy in a pils-like way as well. Unexecptional.

Mild sweet malty hop aroma. Medium clear golden appearance with full head. Sweet malty flavor with some slight sour apple cider . Slight apricot peach biscuit aftertaste.
