Commercial Description:
Formerly known as Sebourg beer, this was rebaptized Saint Druon de Sebourg in 2000.
Malted barley and 3 varieties of hops grown in Alsace form the basis of this recipe, which, unlike Duyck’s other beers, also contains wheat from the Beauce region of France, milled in the traditional way by Sebourg’s miller. And to give it an even more distinctive flavour, the Duyck’s use a specific strain of yeast exclusive to the beer.
St. Druon de Sebourg is the French version of a blonde abbey ale, similar in style to those found across the nearby border in Belgium. It is spicy and effervescent, and much hoppier than typical bière de garde.

11.2 oz. bottle, $9.99 a 4-pack. Not sure if it was worth it, about to find out... Very clear, very pale yellow coloration, big, fizzy head, soft, delicate and bubbly, active carbonation rising from the glass’ bottom. Nose is citric at first, sour, a little, big yeast, loud, but still attractive. Taste: smooth, tasty, very clean, a bit peppery on the tongue, and full of citric and other fruit, but mostly a sleek, sqeaky clean endeavor. "Abbey Ale" boasts the lager, but it’s much too lean and hollow to be compared to any of those, especially since it hails from no abbey at all. Perhaps I should put this against a Rochefort or St. Bernardus 6, and then see how it compares against an "Abbey Ale"? As it is, this is an easily quaffable, slightly sour, but throughly mundane blonde ale, perfectly suitable for lager lovers, or wine afficianados not quite ready for the full complexity of Belgian beers. The kind who really like Stella Artois, I mean. but to me, rather blase’...been there, done that, don’t need it... Answer to the question up on top: probably not worth it...definitely not.

looks rather champagne-like, with a pear-like fruity aroma, yeasty wheaty aroma too. flavor is rather average and neutral, with some flowery hops presence. very very drinkable, just not outstanding.

75 cl bottle; Bright clear with tight white head. Nose is fruity and hoppy with some acid. Flavor of hops (saaz?) and some sweetnes. There is a "dusty" tone that i do not really car efor, but still a good and easy drinkable beer. Mouthfeel is light with high, but not too high, carbonation.

Medium gold color - quite clear and bubbly. Sweet aroma with hints of fruit. Dry and sweet body and flavor, finished clean with a bit of cirtus, apple and wheat - almost a bit cidery. Pleasant and rather quenching.

(750ml, best by 3/05) Sparkling apple juice body with a healthy white head, leaves nice lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, apple, yeasty. Taste is mild sweet, dusky apple, some nectarine, some alcohol in the finish, and possibly some corn. Metallic presence appeared as it warmed. Light-medium body.

Clear golden with a white head that produce s a spider’s web of lacing. Sweet fruity apple aroma. As it warms I get some corn -like aromas. Medium sweet falvor, fruity, apple, and alcohol. The finish is suprisingly bad, metallic, dry, and some alcohol thourghout. Nor sir, did not like this one.

Clear and golden, thick creamy head, decent lacing. Perfume, herbal, floral, dusty aromas. Flavors are nice, but not as interesting as the nose - sweet smooth malts, floral hops, a soft warm hop finish. A good biere de garde

Golden color with a white head. Aromas of earth and spice. Taste starts out sweet, with some hops, fruit, spice, and pepper. Finish is a bit bitter. Body is on the light side. Low alcohol is noticable, higher would make it better.
