Commercial Description:
Formerly known as Sebourg beer, this was rebaptized Saint Druon de Sebourg in 2000.
Malted barley and 3 varieties of hops grown in Alsace form the basis of this recipe, which, unlike Duyck’s other beers, also contains wheat from the Beauce region of France, milled in the traditional way by Sebourg’s miller. And to give it an even more distinctive flavour, the Duyck’s use a specific strain of yeast exclusive to the beer.
St. Druon de Sebourg is the French version of a blonde abbey ale, similar in style to those found across the nearby border in Belgium. It is spicy and effervescent, and much hoppier than typical bière de garde.

750ml - Poured a hazy golden body and a gigantic eggshell head. That aroma was lightly peppery, more yeasty and doughy with lemony angles to it. The body was rustic and oily but the finish was snappish and dry. It seemed a bit dirty and raw, very grassy and green apple like.

12 oz bottle from Malt of the Earth Beer club. Pours a clear golden blond with an average sized head. Nose is a little spicey and quite malty. Taste is some wheat, pear, peach, cardomom, subtle floral hops, a little grassiness in the finish. I seem to detect even a bit of toastiness in the aftertaste. Carbonation is high and body is mediium.

cloudy amber pour with medium white head..aroma is very unique..honey, citrus hops, yeast, and apple complement its somewhat sour/funky backbone..flavor is of honey, light orange and coriander, a touch of vinegar and apple...much better than what i was expecting

Very light and extremely hazy in the glass with a fleeting head. Aromas are floral and spicy. A bit of hops and a hint of apricot on the flavor. Alcohol shows through a bit and it finishes sweet. Some bready aspects throughout. Not a bad biere de garde, but not a good one, either.

11.2 ounce bottle in Duvel glass. Clear pale orange with lasting flat big bubble head and some lace. Mild honey and spice aroma. Honey and apricot melon sweet fruitiness with very mild tabacco bitterness and finishing spice. Light watery body and medium-low carbo. Might have been better in 2005 when it was bottled. I can’t believe how much old beer is for sale in New York. Anyhow, not as good as Leffe and twice the price.

Bottle: Strong herbs (cloves and spices) over a sweet malty body. Softens by mid bottle, and then finishes light fruity and candy like. Travelled all the way from France to Brasil to El Salvador and still good. Another good brew from Duycks.

Pours a hazed straw gold. Virtually no head off a careful pour. Nose is slightly thick with a muted malt. Flavor is alive with character. Vibrant sugary flavor with a yeasty influence. Stays pretty smooth and consistent. Feel is nice and smooth off the liquid and has a decent amount of bubble on the tongue. Very drinkable, I say. Whereas it has no real stand out qualities, it is still easy to drink and is pretty good. I don’t think I would ever go back to it, but I can’t think of any reasons for you not to try it.
