| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 6, 2006 Pale to medium gold beer with light lacing, very aromatic, exotic even, scents of lychee, perhaps spinach, mango, grassy like a good spanish cheese (quesa de serena in particular) with a faint musty hint, also fresh bisquits or a cracker factory. Wonderful off-tart flavor with a lemon and shortbread thing goin’ on, a hint of mustard, all most light rye flavored, down to the carraway. Has biere de garde like "cellar character" but refined and clean somehow, probably a great food beer. Defies categorization but very very nice! mdi (573), Nebraska, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 4, 2004 75cl BBD 03/2005 Awesome heady rock of white...terra cotta copper blondish. Cork must earth sex spice. Lagerale of the highest order, the best of both worlds maybe. Malt, spice, fruit, must, bitter, alcohol. Reminds me of La Trappe Triple...but less sweetness & alcohol, plus more hops. Drinks with a slight sulfuric hint of its lager origins. Super smooth and sexy. Not sure that this would age well(that BBD is pretty accurate, I think), so look out for the bottling date. SilkTork (4170), Rochester, Kent, England

This is the most drinkable and tasty Biere de Garde I’ve yet come across. Great mouthfeel - no nasty off flavours - no artificial carbonation flavours, no stale hop flavours, no metallic flavours, everything just tastes fresh and wow! Gentle wheat spice - not dry or overbearing, just cleanly citric and refreshing and exciting. A real feel good beer of the highest order. Did I say it tasted fresh and delicate? O yes! This is excitement. This is great. This is my beer of the month! heemer77 (4303), Savannah, Missouri, USA

Huge white head and decent lacing. Aroma is apples and wheat. The flavor is nice and subtle. I can see why SilkTork raved on this one. The flavors are lightly spicy, like ginger ale with notes of bread and a touch of sour cherry in the background. Excellent. SledgeJr (2960), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

Pours a hazy rich gold with a thick fine-bubbled white head. lacing encircles the glass in rows. The aroma is not heavy, but you clearly get coriander and pepper. Maybe a bit of butterscotch. Has a delicious flavor of apples. I find this to be superbly sweet with a nice balancing hop bitterness. Has a discernable perfume nature. The body is perfect for the style. Fairly quick finish to such a flavorful beer. Delicious. I’m going against the grain on this one which is currently scored a "3" overall. aracauna (2374), Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 1, 2005 The beer pours a beautiful dark gold with a very slight haze. This is topped off by a large, meringue-like head that lasts forever. Slightly spicy yeast aroma and stone fruits like apricot make up much of the aroma. The flavor is fairly malty and lightly sweet. Pretty tasty. PorterPounder (3137), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 13, 2004 Misakenly rated this under Sebourg Biere de Garde Blonde on 6/3/04 due to confusion brought on by this previously being labeled as an American Wheat and the other having a picture of the same label (now since corrected)
Dark yellow fading to orange hazy pour with a sticky, but thin white head. Delectable aroma of peaches and apricots. Good, thick mouthfeel with some tanginess and back end spiciness. Flavor has elements of apricots as well with a bit of coriander in the aftertaste. Goes down very smooth. Impressed.
