Ughsmash (3148), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Oct 19, 2008 Thanks to Rene for the bottle, 2006 vintage! Poured translucent (at least initially) slightly pink-tinted orange without much head. The aroma had a lovely dose of funky gueuze and a little lemon over softer bready sweetness and a bit of peppery spicage.. really cool stuff! The flavor had a tingly, sour lemon and funky horseblanket and a great tripel component as well (strong lighter fruits (pineapple and a touch of orange zest), pale and bready sweetness, and a touch of black pepper).. finished more sour and nicely funky with just a little warmth. Slick on the palate with little carbonation.. dry from the funkage.. left a memorable, lingering funky finish. Excellent stuff! 1FastSTi (2423), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Oct 15, 2008 Thanks Jason for sharing this 2006 vintage beer. The beer pours to a bright copper amber body with a thin white head. The aroma is really sour and funky. Sour starfruits and barnyard yeasts. Extreme funkiness. The flavor is much more tripel like than first expected given the aroma. There are lots of esters and funky yeasts. Perhaps muddled pineapple and plantains meets gueuze. Subtle spices from the yeasts. Refreshing tart palate. I liked this one a ton. daniele (935), Italy Jul 29, 2008 2006 ambrata schiuma non abbondante non molto persistente note acide agrumate citriche ma anche caramello distillato in bocca piena acidita ma anche note maltate e un leggero amaro piuttosto secca dalekliz (292), San Diego, California, USA Jul 16, 2008 Bottle, thanks to WeeHeavySD for sharing. Pours a hazy orange-amber with a white ring. Very sour fruit aroma, with malt and a bit of funk. Taste is very sour and clean, with a hint of sweetness, of fruit, malt, and yeast. Lingering sharp sourness. Interesting and tasty. WeeHeavySD (2034), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Jul 11, 2008 Bottle from my boy Dany, Glougoburb. Shared with dalekliz and my gf cyn. Pours a nice orange with a 1 finger bright white head. Great guezy nose. Killer on the nose, this shouldn’t be a belgian strong much more like a Sour belgian mix. Taste is big and full bodied with a rousing tartness. The lambic comes through over and over again. This is really a special beer.
