2007 bottle with a 3 Fonteinen cork thanks to bu11zeye (best before date with my broken translation is 2012). Pours with a murky golden body and a small white head. Aromas of sour lemon and marvelous funk that you get from a 3F lambic! Lemon, meringue, saw dust, funk, cork, barnyard, cider, wood, vinous white wine qualities. Flavors are much smoother than the funk and sour onslaught of a nose would suggest. There are lots of sweet and bready, nearly pie crust flavors that are backed with an amazing sour and funk note. Key lime or a sugarless lemon meringue pie are not a reach. Kind of caramelized vinous notes. Really complex mesh of a lambic and a tripel. Lively bubbles and somewhat dry. You can taste the big, rich parts of the tripel, but not the alcohol that this lends to the beer. Its a pretty fantastic marriage in my opinion!

No idea where I had this but I know it would have come from our Mes, cheers mate. Poured a slightly cloudy orange with a tiny head. Like my old dog pinchface. Aroma is very tasty with various different fruit flavours, bit of sourness. Flavour is mellow for the style but has an almost white wine type of sourness. Alcohol is very well hidden. For some reason this beer makes me think of rudeness.

[3416-20101002] 500mL bottle. Sour yeast characteristics in the aroma. Hazy, light brown body with quick foamy white bubbles. Toasted bitter grass blades flavour has something like wheat. Medium body. Seems old, like it should be more sour.

WOW!! I had this same 2007 vintage a little under 2 years ago and at that time it was one of the BEST beers I had ever had. It obviously went way down hill. I am not sure if this was an issue of a bad cork though as there was hardly a POP when I openned the bottle. The beer poured dark golden and very hazy with almost no head (and a very foced poor) a bit of lacing was left as I swirled hte beer to force a bit more head . . . all I got was film. The smell up front was a sour, but not sharp, sort of dull and boozy with some damp wood mixed in. Kind of medicinal. Taste was somewhat similar to the oder. A bit of tame sour up front then goes to woody yeasty and finally to medicine with an alocohol heat at the very end. MF was not bad, but I remember it being much lighter. This one had more body than I remembe ror would expect. A bit under carbonated but as I said there may have been cork issues. Overall my favorite aspect of the beer this time around. As for drinkability, it took me a while to get through, and NOT because I was savoring it as I did that wonderful first time around. would not have wanted another. I wish I had bought a second one (and drank it right away) when I was at the Kulminator with Tender a couple years ago. I would not bother picking this one (2007) up, but if they ever make it again I will definately be willing to give it a try FRESH

Bottled 375ml (Tuulensuu)
Clear orange color, no head. Fruity, tart nose (cork, apricot). Medium-bodied. Fruity, wild yeast funkyness, apricot, peach, but same time not so tart than lambics. A bit acidic finish. Well, maybe this is lambic for beginners with no saccarine added?! Quite good.

2007 vintage, tasted from a 375mL bottle obtained in a trade. Pours cloudy light orange with just a hint of white lace head. The nose is super funky, sour, with plenty of vinegar and barnyard, but there is much more of a malty aroma than most of the sour beers I have had. There is also a good bit of yeasty aroma as well. The flavor is a little more austere with the beer starting off with that tripel flavor with a bit of sweetness, but then moves to the sour, citrus, and heavily barnyard funk flavors of a lambic, and finishing with some bitterness. The body is full with an oily texture, very light carbonation, and a long bitter, citrus, and bread malt finish. The alcohol is masked excellently.
