Pours a lighter gold color. The aroma is fairly sweet honey and wood. Taste is sweet and oaky. Nice Mead, for sure. As good as any of the other meads I tried this evening.

bottle, courtesy of Schroppfy - thanks a lot! Copper-golden colour, oily consistency, lovely honey aroma. Full-bodied and sweet, not sticky, lots of honey character. Very pleasant indeed.

Pours a rich golden hue. Smells like you just cracked open a hive. Sweet honey and wax. Flavor is earthy uber sweet honey and wax. Light spices and a bit of barrel can be picked up. Hints of vanilla and maple in the finish. Real nice.

So difficult for me to figure out, this foreign language. Had this at the 2011 mid summer morning mead tasting at Vintage, nice place, y’know? Very rich in color, for a mead. Quite dark, almost dark brown like in a beer. Rather strong and rude forward smell. Alarming to the olfactory. wew, first taste is high alky, even for a wine. Borders on the effect that liquors have on my palate. Mouth coating cough medicine with sugar. Volatile, don’ light a match!

bottle at azwine 11/22/10. says it was bottled 1/25/07... crap, this is 12 years old!!!! dark orange brown. rich but not thick. very grapey aroma... reminds me of a 40 year old tawney port mixed with honey, florals, wood, almond, raisin, vanilla, dust and some fresh thyme sprigs with the dirt still attached! it gets richer and fuller as it sits. amazing stuff! 8/4/8/4/16+

Pours quite dark, like the other from this meadery. Incredible aroma, just gets stronger, more sweet, but also more pungent, piercing, spicy. Better than clove, not at biting. Good stuff! The flavor is heavily sweet, with burning alcoholic charred purple fruits (raisin, plum) amok. Pepper. Harder to drink than the previous. Delicious nevertheless. Wow, meads are a trip.

Ceramic bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Hazy orangey brown. Very nutty nose, marzipan notes. Full-bodied, sweet honey, brown sugar and nuts with some underlying and vaguely oxidized Sherry notes. Pleasant. 050211

Bottle shared at the Black Friday tasting. Pours clear amber with a thin white head. The nose is honey comb and booze. The taste is honey, toffee and alcohol. Medium bodied and very smooth.

Bottle at fiulijn. Clear orange brown coloured with no head. Sweet and fruity aroma of honey, caramel, dried fruits, spices and flowers. Sweet and fruity flavour of berries and honey with notes of flowers. Sweet and warming alcoholic finish.

Pours a deep amber red with no head. Aroma of honey, caramel, raspberries and herbs and spices. Flavor is sweet and fruity with the spicy herbal notes coming through on the finish. Different, but very good.
