3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Jupiter in Berkeley, CA. It was tapped into a tall facetted 16 to 20oz glass as a clear dark brown fluid with thin tan head. The aroma is sweet with roasted malts that have mildly fruity esters and faint oxidation. It has a full mouth feel with abundant flavor. The flavor notes are not melded particularly well. I get a pulse of caramelized malts cut by some moderate pine hop bitterness and light dark fruitiness. I do taste a faint oxidation that doesn’t detract from the flavor.
