Draft. Clear, deep garnet color with a listing ivory head. Caramel malt aromas. Malty and dry. Caramel, tobacco, and grainy. Pretty bitter finish with some strawberry notes.
Ibrew2or3 (1613), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Nov 1, 2007 On tap at Jupiter in Berkeley, CA. It was tapped into a tall facetted 16 to 20oz glass as a clear dark brown fluid with thin tan head. The aroma is sweet with roasted malts that have mildly fruity esters and faint oxidation. It has a full mouth feel with abundant flavor. The flavor notes are not melded particularly well. I get a pulse of caramelized malts cut by some moderate pine hop bitterness and light dark fruitiness. I do taste a faint oxidation that doesn’t detract from the flavor.
