On tap at the brewery. An old batch 1. Pours with a white head with surprisingly good flocculation/clarity. Aroma is of wheat, grapes, lightly tart, white wine and lemon. Taste is pretty magnificent; very nicely balanced. Aroma is fruity, mango, lychee, papaya, peach sorbet, lightly tart with nectarines in the finish. Really nice and fruity. Lively and dry mouthfeel. 12-16 more months in a white wine barrel and this would be a legitimate Cuvee de Castleton clone. Really a pretty good young sour!
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 alexanderj (3054) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - MAY 7, 2010
On tap at brewpub. Poured a gold color with a white head. Aroma of grapes, vinegar, yeast, and a bit fruit. Flavor wasn’t really sour, pretty carbonated, yeast, fruit and a bit of sugar.

On tap at Blue Palms. Hazy straw with a one finger white head, fading to a thick ring andthin film after a couple minutes. Light lactic acidity atop lemony wheat, light cereal grains--pretty mellow thus far in the nose. Flavor follows suit pretty well with some fruity bananas and just a tinge of acetone toward the finish. Also got a hint of almond--dunno what that’s about. Sourness peaked at a 2-3, semi-dry with low bitterness. Livy to moderate prickly carbonation with a light body. Hope this fool ages well--as it is, it’s just interesting as I’ve not had a sour this young before.

Hazy bright yellow beer with a thin whispy head. Aroma of candy and lemon. The flavor is sour, but not obnoxiously so. This is a very drinkable sour beer - maybe more like a "too sour" wheat beer. Lots of citrus, spice, and a faintly sweet syrupy flavor in the finish. Really interesting.

pours really yellow. aroma is faint but a little fruity. sourness is minimal but the acid does leave its mark. very refreshing. one of my favorite sour ales so far because it doesn’t try to pucker your mouth into a grimace

On tap at the brewery. Unclear golden with thin white head. Aroma-slight sourness, peach, muscat. Taste-champagne, fruit, some sour lemon notes. Good flavors, but thin and light bodied.
