Belgian-style Ďwit-bierí or white ale has a light wheat base and is typically spiced with coriander and citrus peel. For a unique twist, we add rose petals as well. Manifesto Wit is pale straw-colored and slightly hazy in appearance, with invigorating citrus, floral, and spice aromatics. The light body and subtle sweetness of this beer accentuate the peppery flavor produced by the yeast. These lively flavors, combined with the slight tartness in the finish, create a crisp and refreshing experience. Itís sunshine in a glass!

Hazy golden coloured body with a light pale yellow tint and a large, relatively quick dying five centimetre tall white head. Aroma of pale wheat, coriander seed, yeast, bread, nutmeg, anise and a hint of cloves. Medium-bodied; Strong yeastie and wheatie flavours with some moderate sweetness and much more spiciness throughout the flavours with a lot of dry and herbal notes on the back end. Aftertaste shows some good complexity with spice coupled with herbs and yeast - fairly light, but showing some residual alcohol and dry bittering flavours. Overall, a good wit thatís on the stronger side of things, but in a good way. Still, great to drink on a warm day or pretty much any day in Los Angeles, given that itís always hot and sunny there. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from BevMo in San Diego (Mission Valley), California on 08-June-2013 for US$5.49 sampled at home in Washington on a relatively hot day on 03-October-2013 a few hours before heading west to Alaska!

On tap @ Pizza Port Ocean Beach: Poured a glowing yellow liquid with a tint of white. The aroma is hard to smell but there is a pinch of coriander and orange peel that stays true to Belgian witbier. The flavor is nice and spicy with a taste of coriander, clove, banana, and orange peel, Has a pleasant palate making this the first beer I have yet to taste from Eagle Rock.

Bottle; poured a dull gold, almost an amber color. Aroma of wheat and citrus/orange, maybe a bit more on the wheat side. Flavor was fairly mild, with some vanilla and wheat with some citrusy zest in the finish. Just ok.

On tap. Clear pale yellow with a fluffy white head. Earthy aroma and taste with subtle orange and sulpher notes and a too thin palate.

Completely hazy pale yellow with a soapy, soda-like white head that disappears quickly. Nice sour, wheat, barnyard aroma. These follow into the flavor along with tart lemon and apricot. The carbonation is a little weird, very big and bubbly. Thereís some coriander in the back and even a salty edge. A very light caramel sweetness helps balance the sourness and light bitterness. Finishes lemony and sour with some nice hay dryness, yeastiness and citrusy sweetness. Light, refreshing and enjoyable.

Bottle at the Funky 8, Brooklyn, NYC. Pretty mellow overall, but classic in its approach to the style. Easy drinker.

Bottle:   Dirty straw, a bit orangish and very hazy, light sudsy white head, little lacing.   Not terribly pale in color, let alone white.   Subtle spices on the nose, otherwise seems fairly wheaty.   Yeah, like most American examples it seems to be more wheaty and spicy, and also a touch mealy.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Clean wheaty finish, spices have diminished by this time.   Average example, a little fizzy, with soft spices.
