COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Belgian-style ‘wit-bier’ or white ale has a light wheat base and is typically spiced with coriander and citrus peel. For a unique twist, we add rose petals as well. Manifesto Wit is pale straw-colored and slightly hazy in appearance, with invigorating citrus, floral, and spice aromatics. The light body and subtle sweetness of this beer accentuate the peppery flavor produced by the yeast. These lively flavors, combined with the slight tartness in the finish, create a crisp and refreshing experience. It’s sunshine in a glass!

On tap. Clear pale yellow with a fluffy white head. Earthy aroma and taste with subtle orange and sulpher notes and a too thin palate.

Completely hazy pale yellow with a soapy, soda-like white head that disappears quickly. Nice sour, wheat, barnyard aroma. These follow into the flavor along with tart lemon and apricot. The carbonation is a little weird, very big and bubbly. There’s some coriander in the back and even a salty edge. A very light caramel sweetness helps balance the sourness and light bitterness. Finishes lemony and sour with some nice hay dryness, yeastiness and citrusy sweetness. Light, refreshing and enjoyable.

Bottle at the Funky 8, Brooklyn, NYC. Pretty mellow overall, but classic in its approach to the style. Easy drinker.

Bottle:   Dirty straw, a bit orangish and very hazy, light sudsy white head, little lacing.   Not terribly pale in color, let alone white.   Subtle spices on the nose, otherwise seems fairly wheaty.   Yeah, like most American examples it seems to be more wheaty and spicy, and also a touch mealy.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Clean wheaty finish, spices have diminished by this time.   Average example, a little fizzy, with soft spices.

A - Pours a hazy golden-yellow with a finger of frothy white head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some nice lacing. S - Aroma is a mix of wheat, grains, lemon zest, Belgian yeast, coriander, and some other spices. T - Starts off with a mix of wheat, lemon zest, coriander, and some grains. Through the middle, some more Belgian yeast flavors come through with some other spices and some more citrus flavors. The finish is a mix of wheat, coriander and other spices, lemon zest, and Belgian yeast. M - Medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a sweet and spicy finish. D - Very drinkable. Good witbier. Nicely balanced and very sessionable.

Sampled on 10/11/2012 at GABF. This witbier pours a slightly hazy yellow gold color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is cereal, fruity and sweet. A medium to light bodied wit. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are earthy. Decent carbonation. Crisp and clean. Light and refreshing. Very easy drinking witbier. Would be a great beer for a warm summer day. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean, smooth and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Bomber from Beverages 4 Less in Santee, CA. Pours translucent light gold with a fizzy/creamy white head. Aroma is primarily mild citrus with some light spice. Near med body. Flavor is very citrus, with light spice, but there’s something sweet/fruit as well. It’s much tastier and much more drinkable than many wits. It goes down like the easiest thing in the world. It tastes good. This is a beer for an afternoon at the lake. Really - I suggest you enjoy this one.
