Alot of aromas in this. Grapefruit then apple. Pours a beautiful deep orange.
A little bit of biscuit flavors in this as well. The bitterness really lingers but it isn’t overpowering.

On tap: this is a really nice solid XPA. I don’t understand the complaints that it’s too hoppy. HELLO they cal it an extra pale ale for a reason. It is supposed to be hoppy. Aroma is nice with grapefruit sweetness and a bit of grass, lemon and spice. Appearance is yellow with a lovely soft head that laces nicely. Taste is sweet the a nice bracing bitterness. Palate is drinkably easy but the hops stick a bit on the backend. Overall I want more. I can see this being an easy go to for summer.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 ekoerper (369) - Iowa, USA - SEP 14, 2011
Aroma: floral hops, toasty malt to balance, some citrus, very nice balance. Slightly hazy golden pour, white head with average retention and thin lacing. Malt and hop flavors blend really well; bready, toasty malts with firm bitterness and a nice crisp hop flavor. Medium body and carbonation. Very nice brew.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 womencantsail (3929) - Home of Rebecca Black, California, USA - AUG 6, 2011
A: The beer pours a light amber color with a creamy off-white head and mild lacing.
S: Smells decently hoppy with some citrus and citrus peel notes. There is quite a bit of bready malt and toffee giving it a mild sweetness. There is a light grass note to it and some mild toast notes.
T: somewhat sweet with bread, toffee, and toasted malts. There is a little bit of citrus hoppiness and some floral hop character. Mild bitterness, and not super hoppy overall. Sort of bland and a really short finish.
M: The body is light to medium with a moderate carbonation.
O: Just pretty bland. It has some decent flavor when you take the sip, but it quickly vanishes.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Barreras (411) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - APR 16, 2011
Pours a typical yellow orange for a pale ale. Aroma and taste were simple with hops being the overwhelming flavor. This beer was too hoppy and bitter for me.

On tap at the brewery. Amber beer with a persistent white head. Aroma-malt, skunky hops. Taste- light hay, mild hops, lacking body, fullness.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 elihapa (1385) - Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - FEB 22, 2010
Sampled at Bottle Room. Pours copper with a small head. Aroma maintains caramelized fruit and a faint toffee note. Flavor is balanced, lots of sweet apple, pear and apricot. Hops contribute grassiness, not the usual hop bomb pale ale of SoCal. Body thins out as it moves forth, tastes well under 5% ABV. Interesting, and a nice session ale that shows Eagle Rock is not trying for the immediate WOW, but trying to establish itself as a long term presence in the LA Beer scene.
