3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Alphadelic (1630) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 6, 2009
UPDATED: JUN 8, 2009 From the barrel at the brewery:
Nice and light, drinkable and with enough dusty hops flavours to give it a wee kick. A good session.
Bottle, filtered:
Kinda malty to the nose. Weirdly boozy, like an apple brandy mixed with pear drops. In the mouth it is light and fruity, metallic in a malty way. Sly little dusty notes there too. Quite heady. Pretty tasty little one actually. More interesting than many.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 MesandSim (7118) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 9, 2009
A Mes rate. Gravicask at Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. Darkish gold, nice and clean, very thin white head. Straight forward earthy malt aroma with some delicate citric hops. Strange wheaty bitterness to the flavour, slightly sickly malt. Rather run of the mill and a little short on character.
